World’s Loneliest Pittie Spends Two Years In Eight Different Foster Homes That ‘Couldn’t Keep Her Long’

World’s Loneliest Pittie Spends Two Years In Eight Different Foster Homes That ‘Couldn’t Keep Her Long’

What is it about black Pitties that leads people to overlook them? Are their color and breed really that undesirable?

Sadly, this myth has become a reality, as more and more black Pitties are struggling to find their forever homes, including Anna. This gorgeous, happy-go-lucky fur baby is the epitome of sweetness. Yet all she has known her whole life is being overlooked.

After searching for a suitable family for more than two years, Anna is still on the quest, wondering what she did wrong to make everyone avoid her.

Back Then, She Was A Hopeful Pup

Anna’s story doesn’t have a sweet beginning, either.

Before becoming a foster dog, she was rescued with her mother and brother from a dumpster by Strong Paws Rescue in New York. Ever since her rescue, Anna’s caregivers have hoped this sweet girl would get a chance.

Sadly, that hasn’t happened.

“Anna is a loving black pitbull who’s been waiting almost two years for her forever home. We welcomed her into our care as a young puppy when she was found outside of a dumpster with her mom and brother,” the New York rescue wrote on Facebook.

After her mama and brother were adopted, Anna was left alone, with only one unsuccessful application during all this time.

Her life journey began in a foster home, where she had a glimpse of what it truly looks like to be a family dog. But every time she opened up fully and started to get comfortable, Anna was forced to move to another place.

This heartbreak eventually took a toll on her. It made her slower to trust and warm up to people than she used to. But as soon as she gets comfy around someone, she immediately blossoms into the loving girl she is.

According to her caregivers, Anna is amazing with other dogs and could easily live in a family who has more than one.

“She is great with dogs big and small, and is a mix of playful and a cuddly couch potato,” the rescue added.

She’s truly a keeper, but the adopters seem to not know that about her. Or at least they pretend not to know, as her color and breed are not quite desirable like in other dogs.

Eight Heartbreaks Is Just Too Much

At the end of 2024, Anna is forced to move from her foster home once again. Her current foster says they couldn’t keep her for much longer, which leaves Anna on the verge of heartbreak again.

This is the eighth ‘breakup’ she has had to deal with in a two-year span, and it just seems like too much.

“It’s just not fair for her to keep moving. We really want to find her a permanent home by then, where she can finally feel safe, settled, and loved for good,” SPR concluded.

Anna truly deserves a new chance. She deserves a family that will recognize each of her qualities and fall in love with who she is. And she definitely is a companion worth having!

For now, Anna will still be roaming the world and changing foster homes. As heartbreaking as it is, this poor Pittie has no other choice but to be patient and hopeful.

The question remains – will she have the strength needed to endure it all?
