As someone who has owned dogs before, I have to say that one of the most difficult things was watching over them all the time to ensure they didn’t injure themselves.
In many ways, they are like toddlers. The whole world is their playground, and exploring everything is their favorite activity.
However, there is one small problem that comes with this. Because their behavior can be pretty unpredictable, sometimes they get into trouble.
Cloud was in a similar situation when she was playing outside with her puppy siblings and he got stung by a bee. Luckily, her foster mom noticed what happened, and she rushed to examine her.
Cloud’s Backstory
When Jean was first introduced to Cloud, it was through Hope Animal Rescue in North Carolina. They found her and the other siblings, so they rescued them.
The puppies all needed a foster home, but it was going to be pretty difficult to find somebody for all of them, considering there were nine of them in total.
Originally, they asked Jean if she was going to foster Cloud, but she wasn’t sure if that was possible because she was going out of town, and they couldn’t find a temporary foster in the meantime.
However, just like with everything, plans change, and Jean made an important last-second decision.
She told GeoBeats Animals: “So I said I probably can’t because I don’t think we’re gonna be able to find a temporary foster to care for nine puppies. But then I decided I really would rather get these nine puppies than leave town and visit my sister-in-law.”
So, she and her husband got all of the puppies and then realized that they had to make some adjustments in order for all of them to be really comfortable.
Jean’s husband made an outbuilding, which he now uses as a home for all of the puppies. He ran electricity to it, so the dogs would always have air conditioning.
Cloud Got Stung By A Bee
The yard around the place also serves as a nice playground for all of them. Just as they were finally starting to settle in, a strange incident occurred.
Cloud got stung by a bee while she was playing in the yard. Her foster mom noticed it pretty quickly, so she rushed her to a clinic in North Carolina.
When she got there, the vets did an examination and concluded that she needed to stay for the day. However, the problems don’t end here.
Jean said: “I came back and noticed that two of the other puppies looked like they had been bitten, that my husband just didn’t notice.”
They were also swiftly taken to an ER, but the vets told them that their problem was not so severe. The only thing they would need was a shot of Benadryl, and they would recover.
After the vets were done with observations, Jean noticed that Cloud’s face was still swollen and it didn’t look like there was much progress in his healing.
The vets assured her that it was okay for the puppy to go home. She would have to continue treating her there, and she would recover.
So, Jean continued giving her Benadryl, and she started seeing changes the very next morning. Her swelling went down and Cloud was back to her normal self.
While we are not sure if Cloud and her siblings have all found a forever home yet, I am confident that their rescuers are doing everything they can to give them the best chance at life.
