As someone who was a dog owner once, I was always pretty surprised by how social my pup was, even though he didn’t appear that way at first.
He only really seemed to care about spending time with his favorite humans, but when other dogs were there with him, it meant he could run and play for hours.
Thankfully, there was plenty of land, and he could always run anywhere he wanted. It’s always heartwarming to see how they behave around other dogs.
And, the surprises don’t stop there. For this family from Michigan, something quite unusual happened when her neighbor’s dog was standing in front of her house barking, only for them to find out the real reason why.
Well, Isn’t That Surprising?
Even though most people would be annoyed hearing the sound of other dogs barking at nothing for hours, what they don’t understand is that sometimes they are just communicating this way.
What appears to be a pup barking at someone’s house could be him trying to tell something to his best buddy. We just need to be better at seeing these things.
That’s basically what happened to Colleen, who was surprised to see her neighbor’s dog standing outside her house in Michigan. He didn’t look distressed when he was barking.
It looked like he was just trying to tell her that he wanted to come inside the house. Naturally, she would not get in the way of the dog’s playdate, so she was about to open the door.
However, she noticed that her dog, Willie, was sprinting down the stairs to meet with this dog. After that, the whole situation became as clear as day.
The neighbor’s dog was telling Willie to come outside and play with him. That was just the most adorable thing ever, so she let her pup out to play.

When Colleen first witnessed this hilarious moment, she took her phone and recorded the entire moment. We could actually see her surprise when she realized what was going on.
She uploaded this short clip on TikTok where it got quite a lot of attention from other people who came to the comment section to share their thoughts.
One person commented: “It’s the fact that the dog sees you in the window and is like ‘hey! go get my boy!’.”
Well, it seemed obvious that he was very excited about playtime with his best friend. I would not want to get in the way of that.
Another person said: “My dog growing up figured out how to unlatch the neighbors gate to let his dog out. Then we’d find them at the reservoir swimming, lol.”
Well, that is very clever. So, now I know that dogs will go to great lengths to make sure that their playtime is not interrupted by their owners.
Lastly, somebody commented: “That’s how we did it as kids, before cell phones & the net.”
That’s what got me the most about this video. It’s the simple fact that we as kids used to do this same thing when we wanted to play with friends.
It’s one of the reasons why this entire situation is funny. People always find dogs hilarious when they start mimicking our behavior and it’s one of the many things we love about them.
