Only Dojo knows for how long he struggled to survive on his own. Starving and injured, he wandered the streets until he came to a workplace of kind people in Colton, California.
The employees were heartbroken to see him in such a terrible state and they started feeding him.
Dojo appreciated the kindness that they showed him and continued visiting their workplace.
The big-hearted humans felt compelled to help him. They took a photo of Dojo and shared his story on Facebook, asking rescue organizations to help him.
Dojo’s Hero Steps In

A wonderful woman and animal lover named Tera came across the Facebook post and immediately hopped into her car and rushed to the dog’s rescue.
Tera was overwhelmed with sadness once she arrived at the address and saw Dojo huddled under a big sign that said Pepe’s Towing Service. He rested his head on his paws, trying to keep warm.
She started talking to him. The moment the doggo heard Tera’s voice, he lifted his head and looked at her with tearful eyes.

He was in bad condition and was covered in ticks.
Although he was only skin and bones, Dojo gathered strength to stand up. He was glad that someone came to his aid.
Tera cuddled him and put a leash over his neck and the pup followed her. She noticed that he had a pressure sore on his back.

She scanned him for a microchip but he didn’t have one.
Once Dojo was inside Tera’s van, he wagged his tail for the first time. He realized that he would finally get the help that he needed.
His rescuer was overjoyed.
“He started wagging once I got him in my crate inside my van. He knows that he is now safe,” Tera wrote on TikTok.
She fed him chicken and rice. The doggo enjoyed his meal and munched his food fast.

The same night, Tera took him to the vet who examined him. An X-ray revealed a heartbreaking truth about Dojo. He ate wires and rocks in order to stay alive.
If he doesn’t pass them on his own, the pup may undergo surgery.
Luckily, Dojo’s bloodwork was normal. Once he had his ticks removed, he felt more comfortable.
The Pup Starts His Road To Recovery

After his checkup, Tera took him home. Dojo felt safe.
His rescuer gave him a bath. The pup was a little bit nervous but grateful. He planted many kisses on her face, wishing to thank her for giving him affection and care.
Love Leo Rescue, a rescue located in Santa Monica, California, took over Dojo’s care and placed him in a foster home.
The sweet dog started healing and feeling much better. He knows that his human friends adore him.

As soon as Dojo reaches full health, he will start searching for a place to call home.
The pup endured so many hardships and fought so hard for his survival. He deserves to live a life filled with love with his forever family.
