Have you ever been in a situation where you were looking forward to surprising your dog with something and then he decides that he is not interested?
Well, I have, and it’s always mixed feelings, not knowing if I had done something wrong or if I was just late. I try to do something to cheer them up, but it doesn’t always work.
Something similar happened to Louise, who wanted to surprise one of her rescuer dogs by renting out a field. As we will find out, things did not go according to plan.
How Could I Not See It Coming?!
It was an ordinary day for Louise, who decided to surprise one of her rescuer dogs, Faith, by taking her to a rented out field where she can run freely and just enjoy herself.
Given that Faith is a very happy pup who loves running and playing, her owner thought this would be an amazing opportunity for her to have some fun.
Normally, Louise does this semi-regularly and loves taking her other dogs there. Now, it was time for Faith to enjoy her turn.
They drove all the way to the field, and as they were about to embark on this amazing new adventure, rain started falling unexpectedly.
This immediately became a huge deal breaker for Faith, who hates rain, and she decided to stay under cover from the rain until it passed.
The adventure was over before it began. Louise thought the entire thing was funny, so she recorded her pup while she was sitting in her small shelter.
An Interesting Reaction On Internet
She posted the entire short clip on TikTok, and there were no shortage of responses from other dog owners who found the situation both funny and relatable.
One person commented: “My staffie absolutely loves swimming – he’s in and out of the lake/river etc. The SECOND is rains – he runs for cover.”
Yes, I feel like this is universal for most dogs. My German Shepherd hated rain, even though he loved running around the house for hours.
Another person said: “This is so true. I had a staffy and he faked injury and started limping if I wanted to take him for a walk in the rain. Best dog ever”
Okay, well, I did not know they could get clever enough to manipulate their owners into not taking them for a walk during the rain. You learn something new every day.
Lastly, one person commented: “Oh no I couldn’t. This is why I got a collie, no weather issues… Staffys look big and tough, but really they’re just sensitive wee babies.”
Okay, well that confirms it now. Even so, they are still really lovable and playful, and their energy is hard to match for a lot of other dogs.
I guess we can say that something was definitely learned about this breed by looking at this particular story. They really do not like the rain.
Nevertheless, this is still an interesting story that shows the struggles of every dog owner when they have to do something interesting, but the dog is not into it. I hope Faith gets another chance to enjoy running in the field with her siblings because she deserves it.
