Nothing could have prepared Gin Walker for the heartbreaking sight that she was about to witness as she walked toward a dumpster in her neighborhood.
The Michigan resident was carrying some things that she needed to throw away.
When she opened the dumpster lid, she was shocked to see the saddest eyes staring back at her from the bottom of the dumpster, begging for help.
Her heart sank when she realized that the desperate creature in the dumpster was a white Pit Bull mix with a black marking on his face.
Walker immediately called 9-1-1, and the City of Ann Arbor Police Department dashed to the spot. Washtenaw County Animal Control was also on their way to help the pup.
Saving The Dog From The Dumpster
The woman stayed with the dog.
Once the police and animal control arrived at the scene and saw the pup lying on the pile of trash, they were devastated and horrified.
He had a large tumor on the left side of his ribs and seemed unable to get up.
They used a contraption with a harness in order to safely lift him from the dumpster.
He didn’t have a collar or a microchip.
The police shared the heartwrenching story about the dog on their Facebook, along with photos of his rescue.
The public was appalled by the abuse and cruelty that he suffered.
The Humane Society of Huron Valley took the dog under their care and welcomed him with open arms. He was taken to the vet where he was examined and given the care that he needed.
The Doggo Is In Good Hands

The dog, who was estimated to be around ten years old, was nervous but sweet.
After the staff gave him some time to decompress, they took him on a walk. Although he didn’t walk for a long time, he had a great time sniffing around and munching his treats.
While the doggo is receiving treatment, the doctors are working on establishing a diagnosis for the mass on his side.
Meanwhile, the police are doing everything they can to find out who discarded him in the dumpster.
They are asking the public to reach out if they have information about the dog and his owner.
“Anyone who may recognize him or has information about its owner is urged to call the AAPD front desk at (734) 794-6920 or email the tip line at [email protected],” the police wrote in a Facebook post.
Everyone hopes that he will make a full recovery and start a new life filled with love.
After the trauma and mistreatment that the dog endured, he deserves to find happiness.
