You can’t force dogs to be loving friends. The best you can do is work on their socialization skills, and that’s about it. But forcing love? That’s a big no. It either happens or it doesn’t.
The good news is that a dog’s love sometimes has a hidden agenda. It may not come right away. Rather, it might be buried beneath misunderstanding and fear. And, once that wall is broken – boy, you’re gonna witness some tail wags and cuddles out of pure love!
Claire Samford from Florida was worried her giant Great Pyrenees and a 35-pound Mini Dachshund would never reach that point. For some reason, they just didn’t hit it off right away, which made their owner doubt their friendship in the first place.
Then, one day, she witnessed the most heartwarming moment and caught it on camera!
The Moment She’d Been Waiting For
Olaf, a deaf rescue Great Pyrenees, is a calm, friendly pup. But, when his mom brought Tank, a Mini Dachie, into the house, everything changed.
All of a sudden, Olaf was scared by his 35-pound brother and didn’t know what to do. He refused to interact, play, or basically share any activity with him. He definitely didn’t like having him around.
Then, it happened!
Just when Claire and the family thought the two would never become friends due to their differences, she caught Olaf and Tank in the sweetest situation – and decided to capture it in a video. Little did she know that the video would reach millions of viewers in no time!
“We were starting to worry these two would never be friends. We’ve had Tank for four weeks and they’ve never played. And then this happened,” Claire wrote in the video.
Unlike his usual ‘fierce and feisty’ moves, this time, Tank decided to lie belly up on the floor and invite his giant brother for a little ‘snuggly playtime.’
Usually, Olaf would refuse, but this time, he surprised everyone! He actually put his big paw on Tank, as if he were trying to pat him. And, it was adorable!
The video Claire posted on TikTok immediately went viral, with comments from all over the world pouring in.
“Little dog is like, ‘OMG IT’s HAPPENING! Everybody keep calm’,” one commenter wrote.
“‘There. I played with it.’ It’s giving “dad who never wanted a puppy” energy. Tomorrow he’ll be tucking him into bed and singing him lullabies,” another joked.

This Florida pup duo is probably the oddest duo you’re gonna see. Yet, it’s also probably the most adorable one!
You know those ‘big brother, annoying little brother’ relationships that blossom into beautiful, meaningful bonds? That’s exactly what I’m talking about!
Olaf and Tank may not have started as friends, but now they can’t imagine their lives without each other. Sure, they still have a long way to go, but it’s safe to say that they have finally grown accustomed to each other.
One thing is for sure: Olaf and Tank have many more memories to make. And, they definitely have a lifetime to share!
