Finding a home for a shelter dog is generally not easy when they are older. Most people seek to adopt puppies and there is nothing wrong with that.
However, that doesn’t mean that older dogs don’t deserve love. They are as cheerful and playful as any other puppy you will find.
Sometimes, life can be cruel to them and they will struggle to find someone who will treat them with love and respect.
Pop was one such dog. He had spent a long time in the shelter, despite being the happiest doggo you can imagine.
Surprisingly, everything changed for him one day when a video of Pop would become the center of attention because of a viral TikTok trend.
Very Demure, Very Mindful
When it comes to Pop’s personality, he is just the sweetest dog and deserves all the love. He has spent quite a while in the shelter, but his rescuers are trying to find a forever home for him.
They know that anyone who adopts Pop will love him, but they just need to find someone good for him.
A volunteer said in a post: “Everyone is talking about Pop. His pictures are so ridiculously cute and he’s just a few years old! When we meet him though, he is nonstop fun.”
In order to give him a better chance of adoption, the shelter workers at Animal Care Centers of NYC decided to use a viral TikTok trend to create a clip about Pop.
The voiceover in the video said: “See how I act when adopters walk by my kennel? Very demure, very mindful.”
Not only is this the perfect description of Pop’s behavior, but it also showed potential adopters just how sweet and lovable he immediately is.
Pop’s New Forever Home
Unsurprisingly, the video got thousands of views and comments. Many people reached out because they wanted to adopt Pop.
The New York rescuers wanted to carefully select his new family and were able to find someone really amazing.
And just like that, this one trend was able to help this adorable dog start over his life and I am so happy that he is finally living his dream.
However, Pop is not the only dog who needs help. There are many other older dogs who have spent a long time in the shelter and need a home.
A lot of them, like Pop, struggle because of their breed and negative stereotypes associated with pitbulls.
However, that is just untrue and hopefully this video helped shed some light on just how amazing pitties can be when they are cared for. All they want is a chance and we can give them that.
