For many dogs, howling is not something surprising because, after all, their ancient ancestors are wolves.
It is a typical way of communication and expressing emotions for some breeds like Siberian Huskies, Beagles, and even Pomskies, who are the mix of a Pomeranian and a Siberian Husky.
However, it is not every day that you see a cute little Chihuahua howling. Yet, witnessing something unusual like that is why we love these furry creatures.
Moreso when we realize the reason why this senior Chihuahua suddenly started howling, it is impossible for our hearts not to melt!
Howl From Soul
Ashley Pamplin from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania lives in a house full of dogs, whose longest resident is an 11-year-old Chihuahua named Rico.
Just recently, she adopted another dog, this time a Pomsky puppy named Frankie, with whom she fell in love immediately. However, Rico wasn’t so thrilled with the new family member, at least at first.
Yet, Ashley somehow knew that would soon change, but she could not have dreamed that it would be so cute and memorable.
One morning, Ashley was woken up by Frankie howling for the first time. When she realized what was happening, she immediately rushed to record it.
To her delight, she managed to record something much better than just the first howl of her new pup. She captured a howling duet of Pomsky puppy and senior Chihuahua.
“That one time my puppy taught my 11 yr old dog to howl…🫶🏿” she wrote in the video while the caption read: “He never howled in 11 years until that day… 💙”
Although this video in itself was something especially heartwarming, it was even more important to Ashley that a new friendship was born that day.
It took just a few howls from the soul for it to happen.

The third quipped: “He knew how, he just didn’t have a pack to do it with till now.”
Sadly, in the meantime, Rico passed away, and from now on, His little Pomsky brother will have to find another partner for his howling performances.
However, hardly anyone will surpass this duo, whose howls came directly from the soul.
