Three-Legged Dog Saved From Freezing Ditch Now Enjoys Many Plush Toys For Comfort

Yeti was far from having a nice home.

After being involved in a terrible accident, this spotted Rottweiler could do nothing but wait for his inevitable end. He seemed like a completely lost cause who had almost given up on life, yet he still had so much to offer.

Fortunately, kind people who noticed him refused to leave him behind, and Yeti was given another chance. What he didn’t know at the time was that his life would change forever, all thanks to his new mom and dad!

Yeti’s story comes all the way from Texas, where he was initially found.

Sadly, he was hit by a school bus and discovered severely injured in a freezing ditch. At that time, Yeti’s condition was so bad that he needed to have his front leg amputated to survive.

After three major surgeries, Yeti finally opened a new chapter in his life when Stephanie Cobbs, his new foster mom, took him in.

Although life without a leg took a toll on Yeti, he never let his condition hold him back. Rather than lying around and being lethargic, Yeti embraced his new chance as a gift and constantly wore a big smile on his face.

This positive attitude ultimately led to his adoption by Melissa and Jerome, a couple from Washington who flew all the way to Texas to meet him.

Thousands of miles later, Yeti found himself in a brand-new home, beginning a brand-new life. And, oh boi, was it amazing!

Yeti, known for having a unique condition called dog vitiligo, which causes white patches on the skin where there would normally be color, is now an Instagram and TikTok star who continues to dazzle people with his distinctive look and everyday adventures!

Needless to say, he is so loved by his new mom and dad, and has literally everything he has ever needed!

He Has A Brand-New Life, And Brand-New Plushies

One of Yeti’s favorite things about his new life is that he has so many plush toys at his disposal!

He just loves to hop into his toy basket and snuggle himself under a nice blankie before taking a cozy nap. For some reason, Yeti finds his toys so comforting that he always resorts to them during both good times and bad.

Years later, Yeti lives the life of a pet every dog dreams about. However, he still has a few trauma triggers that remind him of his past. For instance, Yeti barks whenever he sees a large vehicle.

He also wears specific braces on his wrist to keep him from hyperextending any tendons in his wrist, which, at times, could be unpleasant, but necessary.

However, thanks to Melissa and Jerome, Yeti is constantly reminded that he is loved and far removed from his old life.

He visits the beach almost every day, meets new friends, experiences exciting adventures, and receives cuddles everywhere he goes. Additionally, a prosthetic leg is being prepared for him, which will help him move freely.

“We have a prosthetic leg for him that we’ve been working on, so with some training and things like that, I think he has a really bright future ahead of him in terms of being able to function like a normal dog,” his mom says.

As a thank you for being given a new chance, Yeti has developed exceptionally empathetic behavior toward people. He’s a natural therapist who provides comfort to his mom and dad, and basically everyone who shows him love.

To make things even more amazing, Melissa and Jerome noticed that Yeti has a unique ability to connect with humans in need, including autistic children and wheelchair-bound people.

“A lot of wheelchair bound people and autistic children tend to gravitate towards him, and we’ve had some wonderful interactions with some children with hardships,” Melissa told GeoBeats Animals.

Yeti is truly one of a kind. Despite all he has been through, he has grown into an intuitive, intelligent dog who has nothing but pure love for everyone.

Wishing you a sweet life, good boy!
