A wise man once said: “You can’t buy love, but you can rescue it”. I agree completely with this statement.
There are many things that we as humans do to make us moderately happy, whether it’s talking to other people, partying, exercising, etc.
However, there are only a few things that can make our lives whole, and I would say that rescuing and adopting a dog is definitely one of them.
Such a simple act of love and kindness can go a long way for you and the animal you are saving.
In this story, we will talk about a group of rescuers who found a stray Pittie freezing in the cold and went to help him.
A Huge Shock For The Rescuers
When a group of rescuers from MCP Chicago were first notified about a dog who was trying to escape the freezing weather by going into an open garage, they rushed to his aid.
There was a huge snowstorm, so he wanted to find any cover he could. It’s just heartbreaking to see what he had to go through.
After his rescuers found him, they quickly got a hold of him and placed him in a car, so they could take him to a shelter and to a veterinarian in Chicago.
Once they were finally there, the vets told one of the rescuers, Marta, that they couldn’t guarantee that this poor dog would survive.
He was just in such horrible shape and he had been freezing outside for so long that there was no way to be sure.
However, that didn’t stop them. They were going to try their best to give him a fighting chance, and that’s all he wanted… a chance.
Thor’s Miraculous Recovery
When the vets got him through the first blood transfusion, they were sure that it was a positive sign. Everyone was more hopeful now.
He slowly started his recovery journey. Some time had gone by and the dog, now named Thor, had made remarkable progress. Everyone was impressed by his tenacity.
Even though he was still quite underweight, his veterinarians did everything they could to help him regain weight slowly.
Now, all that remained was to find someone special for him… someone who would love and take care of him.
Luckily, someone had seen his story and decided to step in. That was Patricia and her family. They adopted Thor and made him the happiest pup ever.
He fit right in with them, and they just loved that their dog now had a new sibling who he could play with all the time.
Even though he has been through so much, his amazing rescuers gave him a new chance, and now he gets to finally enjoy his life with a new family.
