Rescuers Left Angry After Somebody Dumpled A Dog And Her Puppies On Highway Amidst Los Angeles Fires

The current situation in Los Angeles is absolutely gutwrenching.

The raging fires have torn through communities, leaving families and their homes devastated. Lives have been disrupted in the blink of an eye, with so many losing not just their possessions, but the memories and security that their homes once provided.

Luckily, so many incredible people and communities came together to provide comfort and aid. This also includes animal rescuers who are stepping up to save our furry friends in this time of need.

Rescue Mission

Animal rescuers don’t even think about how many animals have fallen victim to the fires… they simply focus on saving as many lives as they can.

One Los Angeles rescue shelter was left heartbroken when they found out that somebody dumped a pup and her four newborn puppies in the middle of the fires.

“This sweet family was brought to the shelter by a good Samaritan, who stated that they found them in a charred laundry basket on the side of the highway during the fire evacuations. They came to the shelter in the basket, shaking and terrified,” Kaitlyn Morris, social media manager at the Beagle Freedom Project (BFP), said in an interview.

BFP is a shelter dedicated to finding homes for dogs who had an unfortunate life growing up. So, the second they met this little family, they began looking for somebody who would be able to take them in.

Thankfully, one incredible foster family was more than happy to take in all five of the pups, providing them with the love and comfort they so desperately needed.

Nobody knows how the mama, now named Taylor, and her puppies ended up in this situation. But frankly, it doesn’t even matter. The important thing is that they are finally safe.

“It’s possible their ‘family’ didn’t have room for them in their car. We want to give their previous family the benefit of the doubt as this is a challenging time for everyone, but it’s hard to imagine why someone would do something like this as they were in immense and immediate danger,” she added.

New Beginning

Luckily, this adorable family didn’t sustain any serious injuries, but they did suffer from some burns.

“Taylor is very underweight and has some minor burns on her body and paws. One of her four puppies, a beige little girl, has burns on her paw and nose,” Morris said.

But, not to worry… their foster family was on it! With their round-the-clock care and some good medication, these adorable furry babies are expected to make a swift recovery

The mama pup is quite exhausted but is finally beginning to open up thanks to all the love she is receiving. She is an extremely dedicated mom who constantly ensures that her lovely babies are safe and cared for.

For now, the Los Angeles shelter as well as her foster family are trying their best to get the pups happy and healthy again. Once that happens, they will be looking for their perfect forever home.

For the puppies, this includes some younger, active dogs since they have a lot of energy. Taylor, however, will be needing something on the quieter side.

“Taylor is a very gentle soul who seems to get along well with humans. She’s tired and traumatized so her true personality is still blooming, but we do know that she’s a lover who just wants cuddles. She loves other dogs as well, so she’d enjoy having a furry sibling,” Morris said.
