When a shelter employee spotted a heartless owner dumping their two dogs from their pickup truck in front of Lucky’s Crew Animal Rescue in Bakersfield, she was both shocked and heartbroken.
Once the two Belgian Malinois were left on the road, they looked at their owner in confusion.
Although they mistreated them, the dogs started running after their owner who was in a hurry to drive off.
The desperate pups wagged their tails, still hoping that their owner would take them back.
The shelter staff filmed the heartbreaking scene. She spoke to the dogs and promised to take them in and help them.
The doggos felt relieved because the big-hearted shelter staff member comforted them. Her kind words were the glimmer of hope they badly needed.
Dogs Get Help

The shelter staff worker felt devastated because the Belgian Malinois were in a rough state, exhausted and malnourished.
The male pup was blind in one eye and the female doggo was dirty.
The shelter staff suspected that the two dogs belonged to a backyard breeder. They couldn’t bear to think about the terrible conditions they lived in.

The kind-hearted staff member posted the video of the dogs being abandoned on her TikTok account, hoping to help them find a rescue.
The cruel act of abandonment left the TikTok community furious and the footage garnered massive attention.
Since the dogs were mistreated and dumped by their previous owner, they felt stressed.
The staff showered them with attention and they started decompressing. Before long, they began expressing their gratitude and licking their caregivers’ hands.
It seemed like they started realizing that their miserable life was behind them. The pups smiled and their eyes began filling up with hope.
Hoping To Find Loving Owners

Lucky’s Crew Animal Rescue reported the case to the authorities who started an investigation. The two Belgian Malinois were taken to Kern County Animal Services where they needed to stay during their stray hold.
Although the Bakersfield rescue was overcrowded, they planned on pulling the Belgian Malinois from the shelter as soon as their stray hold expired.
Everyone hoped that they would be rescued from the shelter as soon as possible and given a second shot at happiness.

On March 9th, 2025, Lucky’s Crew Animal Rescue posted an update about the two dogs, which made their well-wishers happy.
Malinois and Dutch Shepherd Rescue (MAD Rescue), a rescue in Michigan, pulled them from the shelter and took them in their care.
I have no doubt that the dogs will find an amazing family who will give them the endless love and care they truly deserve.
I hope that this story inspires people who are looking for a furry companion to stop by their local shelter and give shelter dogs a chance.
