Shelter Shocked As Owners Surrender Dog, Claiming They ‘Couldn’t Wait For Him To Pass Away’

All dog owners share the same wish: that every dog finds a loving and happy home where they are taken care of and cherished.

A lot of rescuers and shelters focus on getting pups from the cold streets and into warm houses. However, they occasionally encounter cases where a dog who already has a home still needs their help.

When Mac’s Mission, a non-profit rescue organization based in Jackson, Missouri, received a visit from a family with their senior pup, never in their wildest dreams could they have guessed what it was for.

A Heartbreaking Confession

A 16-year-old dog named Nasa has spent his entire life with his family. As the years passed, he had convinced himself that nothing could come between him and his hoomans.

However, since he is a senior dog who needs some extra attention here and there, his family decided that he was too much for them.

“The thought of us having to put him down here after he has lost everything he’s ever known does not feel right to me,” a hooman reported to the Mac’s Mission staff.

As soon as the Jackson shelter heard about his story, they immediately took him in and transported him to a foster home.

Even though they were jam-packed with pups, the staff couldn’t bear to see Nasa in such a state.

New Start To Life

After arriving at his foster home, Nasa suffered a seizure but he did make a full recovery.

He also has some vision and hearing impairments but that isn’t stopping him from living the best life ever.

“He eats great and snuggles when he wants to, kinda like a cat, bolbol. He is utter perfection and we prove how far off the cliff we jump for these guys!! Rescue happens here!” wrote the rescue in an update.

Everybody is absolutely head over heels for this guy.

They absolutely love spending time with him and providing him with everything he could ever need to have a good and happy life.

Nasa settled into his foster home the second he arrived, and he is doing better than ever.

I am sure that the Missouri shelter will find him the perfect forever home in no time so that he can truly leave the past behind and focus on his bright future.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind every hooman that animals aren’t just our pets.

They become such an integral part of our family that they can’t even imagine a day without us. And, not to mention the fact that they dedicate their entire lives to making us feel happy and loved.

That is why it is our job to provide them with the best time when they get older. It’s the least we could do!
