An Affectionate Shelter Dog Who Was Put On A Euthanasia List Gets His Miracle

An Affectionate Shelter Dog Who Was Put On A Euthanasia List Gets His Miracle

Bobby’s life changed forever after his family surrendered him to a shelter in Los Angeles, California.

Instead of enjoying the warmth and comfort of a home, the doggo found himself in a small shelter kennel, standing on the cold cement.

Despite losing his family, Bobby didn’t let the sorrow bring him down.

He was the kindest and most affectionate guy who loved belly rubs. The shelter staff adored him and he became their favorite dog.

And yet, potential adopters didn’t see what a special dog Bobby was. Although he wished to be loved with his whole heart, he was constantly overlooked.

Unfortunately, after spending a year at the shelter, Bobby was placed on a euthanasia list.

Saving Bobby’s Life

Bobby’s shelter friends felt devastated. They couldn’t accept the fact that they would lose their boi.

The ten-year old dog continued hoping for a better tomorrow, not knowing that he was slated to be put down in two weeks.

A lot of good humans, including the shelter staff and volunteers, networked the sweet dog, hoping that he would get a chance for a new start.

Shira Scott Astrof, the founder of The Animal Rescue Mission in West Hollywood, California, heard about the doggo when somebody sent her a link to his heartbreaking story.

As soon as Astrof learned that he was scheduled for euthanasia, she immediately dashed to the shelter to meet him.

When Bobby saw his rescuer for the first time, he felt drawn to her and he sensed that she would help him.

The doggo stole Astrof’s heart right away.

“The second I met him, it was like he knew that I was there for him. He was on his back getting belly rubs, and I just fell in love with him within a second,” Astrof told GeoBeats Animals.

She reassured him that he was safe and that nothing bad would happen to him.

The kind rescuer visited the dog a few times. She couldn’t believe that Bobby was on the list because he was considered a safety concern.

She could see for herself that he didn’t have any behavioral issues.

On the contrary, everyone loved him because he was a real sweetheart who just wanted to get as many cuddles as he could.

Astrof found a great foster for the adorable dog and pulled him out of the shelter.

The Lovely Dog Celebrates His Freedom

Once he was officially free, Bobby couldn’t stop smiling and wagging his tail.

His rescuer kissed him, promising him a life filled with love that he deserved.

Since he ate a lot at the shelter and spent most of his time sitting, Bobby had become obese.

Once he was free, the dog embraced a different lifestyle.

He started working out and he succeeded in reaching a healthy weight.

Bobby enjoys his life with his foster mom, who gives him a lot of love. He loves playing fetch, taking naps, and getting belly rubs.

The doggo lights up every room he walks into. He is deeply grateful to have been given a second chance at life.

“He lives in the moment. He loves people even though he really has no reason to. He’s so grateful for every second, he shows us, you know, how we should be,” Astrof added.

Although the rescuer feels sad because Bobby didn’t receive any adoption interest, she is sure that a perfect family will come along.

The adorable dog keeps waiting for someone who will give him a chance to show what a lovely and faithful companion he really is. He can’t wait to give his unconditional love to his forever family.
