Although living on the street was extremely difficult, Magic never gave up fighting for her survival.
The four-year-old Mastiff was roaming the streets of Morgan Hill, California, desperately hoping that someone would extend her a helping hand. She yearned for a little bit of love and a warm smile from the passersby.
Magic believed that good people would save her from loneliness and give her a chance to have a normal life.
When the local police came across the doggo, they collected her and took her to Santa Clara Animal Care & Control in California.
The dog breathed a sigh of relief because she finally felt that someone cared for her.
Life In A Shelter Kennel
The shelter staff welcomed Magic and promised to help her.
They took her to the vet where she was checked. Her skin was dry and she had scars on her body.
The staff didn’t know anything about her backstory but they assumed that she had owners because she had a leash. They scanned her for a microchip, but she didn’t have one.
Thinking that she must be a lost dog, the California shelter put her on a stray hold, hoping that her family would soon pick her up.
After the stray hold expired and her owners didn’t show up, Magic started looking for a forever home.
At first, she felt hopeful that she would soon catch the eye of a potential adopter.
However, as time went by, the dog noticed that the shelter visitors didn’t even look at her and she felt heartbroken. Her hope of getting her happy ending started fading.
Magic’s shelter friends assumed that the potential adopters ignored her because she was a big dog. She weighed eighty-five pounds.
Apart from her size, the dog’s age seemed to be an issue, too. At the age of four, she was considered to be an older canine.
Magic disliked staying in her kennel. She couldn’t relax and show her true personality to the shelter visitors. She always had the saddest expression on her face.
Hoping To Make Her Dream Come True
The staff members and volunteers knew that Magic was a real sweetheart.
Every time they took her for a walk, the dog’s sadness disappeared from her eyes. She was all smiles.
Wishing to help the dogs at Santa Clara Animal Care & Control find a forever home, kind-hearted people set up a TikTok channel where they often shared clips of the shelter residents.
On October 22nd, 2024, they posted a video of Magic that showed the way she transformed into a happy dog when the staff took her out of her shelter kennel.
People who watched the clip were captivated by the dog’s cheerfulness and dazzling beauty.
Magic is now in a foster home where her foster family showers her with the affection that she craves. She loves cuddling and spending time with her fosters.
I hope that the adorable doggo will soon find the perfect family who will make her happy.
