I think that by now everybody knows how loving dogs are.
Even if you give them just a single little treat, they will see it as if you gave them the entire world. From showering you with kisses to cuddling alongside you every chance they get, these adorable creatures will make their love known!
Unfortunately, some people tend to not care about their sweet gestures, even finding them annoying. That’s exactly what happened with this sweet boy.
But little did he know, it was all part of his destiny.
Meet Little Lue
Lue is a simple little pup who loves to show everybody just how much he appreciates them by giving them sweet kisses. Unfortunately, this didn’t really sit well with his previous owners as they had issues with his breath.
So, when he was ten years old, they decided to surrender him to a shelter.
“I’m a manager at an animal rescue. He was transferred to our facility. I saw him in that cage and it was just love at first sight. I was loving on him and he is just so sweet. He will kiss your face for hours if you let him so I let him, you know, kiss my face regardless of how bad his breath smelled,” Sarah told GeoBeats.
The only reason why Lue’s breath was a bit stinky was because he never received proper dental care.
After a vet check up, it was determined that Lue needed 16 teeth pulled. After his procedure, he was able to go to his new forever home where he was able to start a new chapter of his wonderful life.
Start Of Something New
The second he walked through the front door, he felt right at home.
“He is so incredibly well behaved. There really was no adjustment period for him. He just stares at us and follows us around the house. My and my wife both when we do our everyday tasks. He will just stand there and watch us and when I say stand I literally mean stand on his back legs,” she said.
Lue now has two teeth left and the happiest life ever.
Whenever his owners have visitors, he always assumes that they came just because of him so he makes sure to greet them with open arms and a wagging tail.
Seeing him so happy now, Sarah makes sure to inform the public that we need to take care of the health of our furry friends.
“Some people just don’t realize how important vet care is, especially dental care. Not everybody realizes that your dog’s teeth need just as much care as yours do,” she said.
Sarah believes that Lue was loved even in his previous home, but that lack of vet care put his previous owners in a place where they had no idea what else to do.
So, let this story be a reminder for you to book that vet appointment and take your furry baby for all the medical evaluations they need.
By making sure they are healthy, you are also going to make sure that they stick around much longer!
