I don’t think I need to remind anybody anymore that animals have emotions, too!
Just like we hoomans can feel overwhelmed, confused, and even exhausted from constant change, so can they. Sometimes, though, they have it way harder than us.
We can at least make ourselves believe that everything happens for a reason, but what if they can’t?
Roaming the streets or spending years in overcrowded shelters can make even the most confident pup wonder if there is something actually wrong with them. Can you blame them?
I Am A Good Girl, I Promise

The staff at the Eleventh Hour Rescue of New Jersey has had their fair share of heartbroken senior pups within the walls of their shelter.
That is why they try their very best to find them a forever home as soon as possible. Currently, they are looking for ways to find a loving family for a very special pup – Isla. Unfortunately, Isla has been returned to the New Jersey shelter three times already for reasons that were never really her fault.
Anybody who spends even a couple seconds with this pooch is aware that she is the sweetest girl around. All she wants to do is love and be loved.
Unfortunately, what keeps her returning to the shelter is the fact that she needs to be the only pet in her new home. Even though she likes playing with smaller pups, she never learned to live with one 24/7, making her a bit anxious.

Never Giving Up
Knowing how happy she would make any family who would give her a chance, the incredible hoomans at the shelter refuse to give up on her.
Every chance they get, they make sure to introduce this adorable nine-year-old pup to any potential adopter, making them aware of all her irresistible features.
“She is such a sweet and gentle soul, full of energy for a 9-year-old. She’s a power walker but never pulls on the leash. Just yesterday, between 3:30 p.m. and bedtime, we covered 5.65 miles—I’ll be in great shape by the end of the week!” stated one of Isla’s foster parents.
But, as they say, good things come to those who wait – Isla finally found a family who saw her true potential.

Ever since, she has been spending her days in a warm and loving environment with a family who finally allowed her to let go of her past and embrace her bright, loving future.
A big thank you to Isla’s new family for providing her with the life she always wanted.
However, we mustn’t forget about all the other senior pups who face the same fate as Isla once did. So, if you are able to open up your home to a furry friend who will dedicate their life to you, head over to your local shelter and bring a smile to their face!
