Before they reject and kick the dogs out of their lives, cold-hearted people never stop and think about the fear and sadness that every abandoned dog experiences.
A little white puppy named Roxy was just eight-weeks-old when she was left behind.
When her owners placed her in a cardboard box, Roxy couldn’t grasp what was going on. She curled up in a ball, not knowing what to expect.
Feeling sad and confused, Roxy hoped that someone would soon pick her up and tell her that everything would be alright.
A Sigh Of Relief
It was an ordinary day for a Pennsylvania resident until they spotted the unusual cardboard box in front of their house with a message written on it.
“The caller reported there was a box in front of their home labeled ‘free puppy,’” Sara Hornbeck, the director of East Coast Bulldog Rescue, told The Dodo.
The Good Samaritan quickly peeked inside the box and saw the most adorable puppy eyes staring back at her.
As soon as Roxy saw the face of the kind human, she breathed a sigh of relief. She somehow sensed that she was safe.
The resident immediately contacted Animal Control officers and told them that someone dumped a puppy in front of their home.
The officers headed straight to the address, picked Roxy up, and took her to a shelter.
Roxy’s New Beginning
Upon hearing about the puppy, East Coast Bulldog Rescue, a volunteer-run dog rescue in Pittsburgh, decided to take her in.
Once the rescuers saw her for the first time, they were dazzled with her.
She was friendly and sweet. They simply couldn’t believe that someone could reject such a pup.
“Once we picked her up from the animal control kennel, we quickly discovered she was the sweetest, most lovable girl and was surprisingly in good shape for a puppy that had been discarded like trash,” Hornbeck added.
During her freedom ride, Roxy seemed a bit confused, but she soon relaxed thanks to her rescuers who treated her affectionately.
As soon as she was admitted to the rescue, the staff members fell in love with the sweet girl and they posted about her on social media.
It didn’t take long for Roxy to find a forever home.
A wonderful lady who was grieving the loss of Junie Bug, her beloved Pittie, happened to see Roxy’s story. The pup stole her heart. She decided to welcome her into her home and give her all her love.
The woman was convinced that the furbaby would be the perfect addition to the family and a lovely companion to her lonely dog, Murphy.
Roxy got her happily ever after. She feels safe and cherished in the arms of her mom.
