If one thing is for sure, it’s that there is nothing in this world more heartwarming than seeing a shelter dog find a new family and going to his forever home.
Seeing the happiness on their face is priceless and it’s something that changes our lives in more ways than one. However, not every story has a happy ending.
In some instances, dogs who have found a home suddenly find themselves abandoned and back in the shelter.
That was the case for this adorable dog who was abandoned three times by his owners and the rescuers were just stunned when it happened again. They didn’t know what to think anymore.
Sophia’s Sad Story
Sophia was only a small puppy when she was first adopted. At two months old, her rescuers thought that she had found the perfect home.
However, that was short-lived because she was returned very soon after that. They were able to find a new home again, but the same thing happened again.
After being returned for the third time to Solano County Animal Care in California, her rescuers just didn’t know what to do after that.
It was clear to anyone that she was just the sweetest and most cheerful dog there was, but life just hadn’t been going well for her.
Anytime they interacted with her, she was always very friendly and she loved her rescuers. However, even they understood that this wasn’t permanent.
She was longing for a forever home with a family who would care for her. Sophia needed people who would not abandon her again.
They knew that this time, they just had to find someone perfect because Sophia couldn’t go through yet another heartbreak in life.
Sophia’s Ray Of Hope
During her stay at the shelter in California, her rescuers noticed that things were not going so great for her. She was becoming depressed and there was little they could do to help.
Her cheerfulness faded and it was incredibly heartbreaking to witness that. Going on walks and playing with toys does help her a bit, but that is only temporary.
Everyone at the shelter was even more determined to find her a home now. However, it is likely going to take a while.
The first thing they did was share Sophia’s story on TikTok where it exploded in popularity. A lot of people saw the video and this kind of outreach definitely helped.
Soon after that, a kind girl saw Sophia’s sadness and decided to foster her in a wonderful home until they could find a forever home.
This sweet pooch was overwhelmed with happiness when she realized that she was going into her foster home. Her mood changed almost instantly.
It’s thanks to her amazing rescuers and this kind girl that Sophia now has a chance at living the life she always dreamed of.
