Violet didn’t need much in order to be happy. She just wanted her owners to take care of her and love her like she deserved.
Sadly, her careless owners never showed her love and condemned her to years of neglect and abuse.
The Goldendoodle was so covered with matted fur that she barely looked like a dog.
One day, her owner brought her to the emergency hospital, claiming that they didn’t know why Violet was so weak that she couldn’t walk.
When the rescuers at Sky Sanctuary Rescue, a rescue located in Phoenix, Arizona, learned about Violet’s situation, they were both shocked and heartbroken.
The dog’s life was hanging by a thread.
Fighting For Violet’s Life

After Violet’s owners surrendered her, Caitlin Mary Harrell, the director of the rescue, and her team immediately took her under their care, determined to fight for her life.
Harrell tried feeding Violet who had difficulty opening her jaw. Since the pup was too exhausted, the rescuer lifted her head and fed her.
A dog groomer shaved pounds of fur off Violet’s body so that the doctors could start treating her.
Both the rescuers and the vet team were extremely sad to see Violet’s malnourished body underneath.
“[S]he is so depleted — as a full sized golden doodle, she weighs just 12 pounds,” Sky Sanctuary Rescue wrote on Instagram.
The neglected Goldendoodle was in a horrible state and she needed intensive medical care.
The vet gave her a blood transfusion and started administering the necessary nutrients through a feeding tube.
The Pup Starts Feeling Better

The vet team ran many tests trying to find any underlying medical issues that could explain Violet’s skeletal body and inability to walk.
The vets didn’t find anything and they came to the heartbreaking conclusion that Violet was abused and deprived of food.
The doggo sensed that she was finally in good hands. She couldn’t stop looking at her human friends with soulful eyes as if she wanted to thank them for everything.
The team monitored her condition and hoped that she would pull through.

Fortunately, treatment began working and Violet started feeling a bit better.
However, the doggo’s rescuers weren’t sure how long it would take for her to recover and whether she would enjoy her life like other dogs.
Violet Proves To Be A Resilient Dog

Luckily, Violet’s bloodwork improved and she was discharged from the hospital.
Harrell took her home and fostered her.
Violet was extremely frail. Her foster mom pampered her with care and showered her with affection. The pup felt cherished for the first time in her life and started trusting her foster mom.
After a few days, Violet got back on her paws and made her first steps.
Eleven days after her rescue, she went on her first walk and proved to be a resilient and strong dog.

As time passed, the doggo regained strength and her personality started emerging.
Violet was delighted when she got her very first toy.
A few weeks later, she regained strength and put on seven pounds.

The staff at the Arizona rescue feels proud of their resilient girl and they have documented her journey on social media. Thousands of followers felt moved and inspired by Violet’s unbreakable spirit amid difficulties.
Violet continues thriving and healing surrounded with the love and support of her foster family.
The rescuers feel thankful because they were able to help her and give her a second chance at life.
