After being forced to live on the cold, scary streets, a little pup decided that finding some shelter would help her feel like she belonged somewhere.
She spent hours searching for a place she could call her own, but nothing stood out.
What is wrong with me? Am I a bad pup? Is that the reason nobody wants to even look at me?
Questions raced through her head, but she simply couldn’t find the answer. After what felt like hours, the pup managed to find an old discarded tire, so she sheltered inside it.
A Light At The End Of The Tunnel
After spending days in the tire, a kindhearted man finally noticed her.
The second the pup saw that somebody had stopped to help her, she immediately threw on her best smile to show them that she was a good pup who just wanted love.
Seeing her heartbreaking state, the kind man rushed over to a store to buy her some fresh water and food so that this sweet girl could finally fill up her hungry stomach.
Luckily, the man was part of a rescue organization, so he gently picked up the pup and took her to his home since it was already late at night.
After a good night’s rest, the little dog was finally able to visit the vet.
At The Vet
After a thorough head-to-tail check-up, the vets were able to determine that the pup had a fractured leg as well as a fissure on her hip.
And even though her hip injury would heal over time, her leg needed surgery in order for it to heal properly.
Apart from her leg injuries, the pup, now named Anita, was also diagnosed with high sugar levels, a hernia, and severe mange.
The vets placed Anita on all the necessary medications, but they decided to postpone the surgery as it was too risky for her fragile condition. For now, their focus was on getting her to feel as happy and healthy as possible.
And in order to do this, she was sent to a loving foster home!
Heartbreaking Discovery
After spending some time with her new family, they realized that Anita was actually blind! All this time, she was relying on her sense of smell to navigate life.
This realization inspired her rescuers to try their best to provide this resilient pup with the best life ever.
After two short weeks in the care of her new friends, Anita was finally ready for surgery.
Thankfully, the procedure went by smoothly with absolutely no complications. When her two-legged friends heard that she was going to lead a happy life, they were completely overjoyed.
Fast forward to today, and Anita has found a loving family who absolutely adores her.
She was finally able to spend her days having fun with her new family, having adorable playdates, cozy naps, and eating yummy food.
She completely forgot about her dark past as she was a brand-new pup now!
Good girl, Anita!
