I have said it many times before and I will say it again: I can’t understand why some people willingly choose to adopt or take in dogs only to mistreat them afterward.
There is no good reason why these owners would choose to adopt a dog. They clearly don’t want a pet, so why bother?
It’s one of those things that I just can’t wrap my head around. It’s almost like these people deliberately adopt dogs only to abuse them.
Such was the case for this pup who was chained and starved in the yard of his house after the rescuers found him. However, what they found after that also left them quite shocked.
There Was Another Dog
When the rescuers were first called by the worried neighbors, they gathered their gear and got there as fast as they could.
What waited for them was a horrifying and depressing sight. There was a sweet dog chained in the yard and he looked so happy to see them.
It was probably the first time he felt hope in a long time. His rescuers gave him a lot of food but then heard something.
It was barking coming from inside the house. The rescuers couldn’t just take the dog, so they knocked on the door of the building to see if the owner would come out.
There was no response. They left for the night and came back the next morning. The malnourished dog was given even more food.
This time, the rescuers took the initiative and went inside the house. As expected, it was just ruins with barely anything inside.
There was a small cage with a Rottweiler inside it. He looked concerned and malnourished, so the rescuers got him out of there as fast as possible.
A New Journey For The Dogs
He was given some food and the rescuers took them both away. The neighbors told these rescuers that this had been happening for quite some time, so the rescuers went to the authorities to report this.
After the two pups were taken to a veterinarian clinic, they received all the necessary medical care that was long overdue at this point.
They noticed that the Rottweiler, now named Thor, was really afraid of crowds, so they tried to calm him down and keep as few people around him as possible.
Even though the two dogs had been through a lot, they were still very sweet and gentle. I just can’t imagine the horror they went through with their owner.
The other dog, now named Caesar, was not doing so well. He was even more malnourished and had many health problems.
Aside from being malnourished, dehydrated, and having a lot of fleas and ticks, he had many injuries and a deformity. The veterinarians were unclear on how he got these injuries.
They suspect that he was used for dog fighting and the authorities later came to the rescuers and told them the same thing. Apparently, the owner “was busy” and that was the reason why he couldn’t feed them.
Nobody believed that, but it didn’t matter. The dogs are now in a safe place and they are ready to start a new journey, but this time, it will be with someone who loves and cares for them.
While we don’t have information about their adoption, I am okay with knowing that their rescuers are doing everything they can to help them and I am sure they are happy now.
