When Nina Love, the founder of The Black Thornberry, an animal rescue located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, received a call about a mysterious furry figure roaming the woods, she sprang into action.
Once she arrived at the scene, she spotted the furry animal and immediately realized that it was a dog who was scared of humans.
The last thing Love wanted was to scare the pup so she and her team decided to keep their distance. In order to track her movements, the rescuers decided to set up cameras.
The Pup Is Safe

Although Love doesn’t usually use traps, she thought it would be the best option in this case. Thanks to the cameras, Love could see where the dog spent most of her time and she knew where she should set the trap.
“I wanted to provide a safe place for her and a good food source, so I set the trap. I tend to not want to use a trap. [But] I thought for her safety the trap would be the best situation,” Love told The Dodo.

The pup was skittish but Love knew that she wouldn’t give up on rescuing her. Finally, after a week, she entered the crate.
Once the rescuer saw that the doggo was in the trap, she was overjoyed and could hardly contain her emotions.
The doggo seemed unsure of everything and couldn’t stop shaking.
When the rescuer approached her and started talking to her in a soft voice, the dog started feeling less nervous.

Love noticed that the pup had two collars, which she thought was strange. She posted the photos of the dog on social media and asked if anyone lost their pet.
When Love’s friend saw the post, she immediately thought of a family who had been desperately searching for their dog for two months. She reached out to Love and told her about her suspicions.
The rescuers compared the photos of the missing dog with the dog that they rescued from the woods and realized that it was a perfect match.

Love contacted the family and told them the happy news.
She found out that the dog’s name was Hannah. Her family was ecstatic that their beloved dog had been found. They were heartbroken ever since Hannah disappeared from the park.
The rescuer took Hannah to the vet where she was examined and scanned for a microchip, which proved that Ashley was her owner.
A Heartwarming Reunion

Love drove Hannah home where she reunited with her mom.
Ashely was over the moon when she finally saw Hannah in front of her. She took her in her arms and brought her inside. She was so grateful to Love for bringing her back.
Hannah snuggled with her mom and planted little kisses on her face.
After Hannah went missing, Ashley visited shelters, posted flyers, and searched for her everywhere, but to no avail.
The whole family missed Hannah dearly. Ashley adopted her from a shelter in South Carolina and when she moved to her forever home, she was extremely scared.
Just after spending two days with her new family, Hannah disappeared.
When the doggo got reunited with her mom, she was relieved but she still needed time to decompress and settle into her new home.
Her mom and her family showered her with love and Hannah started feeling better. Ashley was happy when she heard her barking for the first time.
Thanks to her family’s love and support, Hannah overcame her fear and became the happy dog that she was always meant to be.

The doggo enjoys her life to the fullest. She loves playing with her doggy siblings and cuddling with her family.
Thank you, Nina Love, for rescuing Hannah and bringing her back home.
