The term “soulmate” isn’t exclusive to humans.
Many doggos establish a strong, deep connection with one another, and once that bond is formed, it lasts forever.
No one in particular can definitely explain why this happens.
Some doggos find common ground based on shared experiences from the past. Some become friends by sharing a home. Then, there are those who fall for each other on their very first encounter, feeling this inexplicable connection immediately!
For Pippa, a dog stuck at a Virginia shelter, it was the latter that changed her life!
Introducing Pippa To A Brand-New Life
When Madison first heard about Pippa, she immediately rushed to meet her. This hippo-like, sturdy girl was stuck at a kennel at Richmond Animal Care & Control, Virginia, after being left there.
Her previous life wasn’t very different from the shelter one. She was a breeding dog used only for profit and lived in a tiny enclosure. It is safe to say that, in her lifetime, all Pippa knew were walls and tiny spaces.
But with Madison came a rescue, and a new buddy!
This kind-hearted woman gave Pippa a brand-new life. In no time, she became the youngest family member and Maverick’s new doggo sister.
Even though Madison expected Pippa and Maverick not to bond immediately, this “unlikely duo” took her by surprise! Timid, shy, and “just used for breeding,” Pippa immediately warmed up to her new brother.
“They definitely are bonded and that did not take long at all to happen. It was a very immediate bond,” Madison told GeoBeats Animals.
The entire family was shocked. How could two dogs that never saw each other and were considered to be “bully breeds” fall for each other right off the bat?
What was even funnier is that Pippa, inexperienced in all the ‘how to be a dog’ games, showered her new brother in the weirdest, funniest ways possible!
At times, she would literally sit on him if he was on the floor, just looking for a cuddle!
The Bond That Lasts A Lifetime
Pippa and Maverick are just meant to be. These two make it their mission to keep surprising everyone they meet with their shared kindness.
Pippa found the ultimate big brother in Maverick, and he, on the other hand, makes her feel safe and protected at all times.
Even when they play-fight, they take a brief moment in the middle of the game just to shower each other with affection.
And, separate beds? What’s that?
“I have two beds out for them but they insist on sharing this one bed… idk what’s wrong with the other one but it’s barely ever used,” Madison wrote on Instagram.
The best thing of all is that from the moment she entered her new home, Pippa’s tail never stopped wagging. She’s literally the happiest dog on the planet now, and just seeing her smile is truly rewarding for Madison.
She does this cute thing where she opens her belly and paws at her mom, requesting belly rubs. You can see just from that how relaxed and at peace she is!
Madison couldn’t be happier with her little family. She has everything she had ever been looking for in Pippa and Maverick.
“She completed our little family. She was the missing piece that we needed,” says Madison.
