When a kind lady and volunteer at Farm To Able, an animal sanctuary in Blue Springs, Missouri, spotted a little puppy tied to a kennel in the middle of a highway, she sprang into action.
She untied him and carried him to her car.
The pup, later named Sullivan, was relieved because a good soul rescued him.
The big-hearted volunteer reported the case to Animal Control.
After Sullivan’s five-day stray hold expired and nobody claimed him, he started searching for a place to stay. The shelters were overcrowded and they couldn’t take him in.
Searching For A Forever Home
Sullivan’s hero talked to Sheriee, the founder of the sanctuary, who agreed to foster him and help him find a forever home.
Sullivan arrived at the farm animal sanctuary and he started exploring his new environment.
He quickly made friends with pigs, chickens, cows, and horses.
The puppy was grateful to be at the sanctuary. He was looking forward to seeing what destiny had in store for him.
While he was enjoying his time in his foster home, Sheriee was trying to find him a permanent home.
After she got to know the pup better, she was impressed with his disposition.
“He’s got a calmness about him that’s very, very unique for a puppy,” Sheriee told Cuddle Buddies.
Sheriee began sending videos of Sullivan to her son, James.
He always wanted to get a dog, and on one occasion, Sherrie jokingly told him that he should give Sully a home. She was both thrilled and surprised when her son agreed.
Sully’s Happily Ever After
The first time James saw Sullivan, he knew right away that he was meant to be his dog.
“He said there was just something about it where he just felt like it was, that was his dog,” Sheerie added.
Sully felt a deep connection with his new dad, too. When he took him in his arms, Sullivan melted with love.
Sherrie was convinced that the two of them were destined to find each other. She was thrilled because she knew that Sully would be happy with her son.
“He will never have to worry whether or not his human loves him or is coming back for him… He will always be safe, protected & loved beyond measure,” Sheriee wrote on Instagram.
After staying at the sanctuary for three weeks, Sullivan moved to Denver, Colorado where he started the happiest chapter of his life.
The adorable puppy enjoys his life to the fullest. He loves going hiking with his dad and playing in the snow.
Thanks to the kind-hearted woman who rescued him from the highway, the puppy got a chance to be happy and discover true love.
