Malnourished And Hairless Puppy Dumped In The Grass By Owners Rejoices When He Is Finally Rescued

While driving in a rural area in Elloree, South Carolina, a couple noticed a snake crossing the road and slowed down right away.

Moments later, from the corner of their eyes, they saw a pair of ears sticking above the grass on the side of the road.

The good humans screeched to a stop and rushed to help the helpless creature.

When they approached him, they realized that it was a motionless puppy who seemed to have already given up hope.

He was in terrible condition; completely hairless and covered in mange. The pup’s emaciated body looked like stone. He needed urgent medical attention.

Saving The Puppy’s Life

The family picked him up and took him to Orangeburg County Animal Control and Shelter.

Since the shelter was overcrowded, they posted a plea for help on their Facebook, asking for a rescue to take him in and help the little pooch.

He was severely sick and didn’t even have the strength to walk.

Luckily, Labor of Love Transport Rescue stepped in and promised to take him under their care.

A volunteer at the rescue agreed to foster him and he rushed to pick him up.

Just when the kind-hearted man and the pup were five minutes from home, a huge storm with thunder came out of nowhere.

Once the puppy was admitted to the rescue in Greenville, South Carolina, the staff decided to name him Baby Thunder.

The staff drove the pooch to a hospital where he was diagnosed with a severe case of mange. His state was so bad that they weren’t sure that he would make it.

Baby Thunder was given treatment. The doctors fought for his life and managed to stabilize him.

Journey To Recovery

His foster family brought him home. They cared for him and encouraged him to continue fighting for his recovery.

Luckily, the puppy was a warrior and he didn’t give up.

During the first week, Baby Thunder was sleeping a lot. His foster family fed him every four hours and gave him medicated baths.

The pup was too weak to walk so he crawled most of the time.

Westie, one of the dogs in his foster home, started playing with Baby Thunder.

Although the puppy was scared and confused, Westie sensed that he needed support and he was determined to make friends with him.

Two weeks later, the pup finally started getting better and his skin condition improved.

As time passed, Baby Thunder continued thriving. He started walking more and more.

Two months after being rescued, beautiful strands of fur began appearing on his body.

Baby Thunder often played with Westie who became his best friend.

A Loving Family That He Deserved

When the pup gained full health and his fur grew back, he was ready to start looking for his humans.

A wonderful family fell head over heels in love with him and gave him the home that he always wished for.

When he moved in with his new family, Baby Thunder was timid. He hid in the bushes whenever his family took him for a walk.

After some time, the puppy realized that his family loved him and he came out of his shell.

His cheerful personality emerged and he brought a lot of joy into his family’s life.

Baby Thunder lives his life to the fullest. He enjoys going on adventures and snuggling with his humans and his doggy sisters, Kala and Koda.
