When a rescuer was just passing by an abandoned house, she saw something that immediately stunned her. There were three puppies just looking at her.
She paused for a moment and realized that it was just the three of them. Their mother was nowhere to be seen. They badly needed help.
So, without hesitation, the kind rescuer rushed to their aid and tried to figure out some kind of plan as to how to get them out of there.
They Were Hesitant
After learning that there were only three puppies, the kind woman walked closer to them. They looked at her curiously but didn’t dare to approach.
She got some food for them and they looked really interested in it. It was no wonder. They were probably starving without their mom.
The rescuer gave them all the food she had, and while they didn’t dare get too close to her, they took their food and went back to the house.
At this point, the woman decided to look around and see if their mom was there, but she couldn’t find her anywhere.
She realized that it was not going to be easy to catch these puppies as they were too scared of her, so she needed to take a slower approach.
The woman came back later and gave them some food in hopes that they would relax around her just enough so she could take them.
A Serious Illness
After she brought the food the second time around, the puppies ran away and she just left the food there so they could have it when they returned.
But, that wouldn’t happen. Instead, another stray dog came and ate it all. This went on for a while, but the rescuer was eventually able to catch two of the puppies.
When they were secured, she immediately rushed them to a veterinarian clinic to see if they were doing okay.
The test results showed that they had enteritis and one of them was not doing great. They tried their best to treat them and help them recover, but the only thing they could do was wait.
Unfortunately, things would not go so well for the really sick puppy, and she crossed the rainbow bridge. Everyone was heartbroken over this loss.
They really wanted her to get better, but there was little they could do for her at that point. Even though they were devastated, her siblings were still there and they would do everything to help her.
Now that she was doing a bit better, the rescuer focused her efforts on finding the last puppy who was in the building.
The Amazing Transformation
She, along with some other people, went to the location and placed traps to help catch them. However, they only found one big dog and assumed it was their mother.
The dog was taken back to the shelter, but the rescuers continued their search for the puppy. After a while, they finally got some good news.
She was secured, and didn’t suffer from enteritis like her siblings. When they were all back in the shelter together, the rescuers realized that the big dog was not their mom.
It was likely that she was just there with them for companionship and protection, but that begs the question: Can they find the mother of these puppies?
Well, the search was fruitless, but the rescuers were optimistic about these dogs because they had a bright future ahead.
The puppies, now named Athena and Esti, were doing much better and would spend their days playing with other dogs from the shelter.
They enjoyed their time with the rescuers and it changed them. They became more confident, which was a good sign that they would soon be adopted, along with the other dog with them.
Until then, they have endless fun with their rescuers who are doing their best to give them the life that they deserve.
