Tyla didn’t know what freedom was. She had a terrible life with her owner who chained her to a crate and kept her in an outdoor tent in order to hide her from the world.
The pup felt helpless and curled up on a baking sheet inside the crate, which became the only bed she ever knew.
Like every other dog, Tyla deserved to live in a loving home and enjoy the beauty of life, but sadly, her merciless owner stole her chance to be happy.
Day after day, the doggo lived on morsels of food her owner threw into her crate.
Exhausted and hopeless, Tyla desperately needed help.

Tyla’s Rescue
Thankfully, the police found out about Tyla’s suffering and seized her from her abusive owner who was charged.
Forgotten, Now Family Rescue, a rescue in Charlotte, North Carolina, took Tyla in their care. She was rushed to the vet where she was examined.
Tyla was in bad condition. She was malnourished and battling a paw infection and a fungal ear infection.
She was given antibiotics and started on a special feeding diet.
Once Tyla began putting on weight, she moved to a foster home.
At first, Avery Andolina, her foster mom, thought that Tyla would be depressed and shut down due to the abuse that she endured.
However, Tyla surprised her.
As soon as she met her foster mom, the pup trusted her and soaked up all the love Avery gave her.
“She saw us and like instantly wanted love. It’s almost like she had missed out on that for so long and she knew what she was missing that she was just like so ready for us to love on her, for her to love on us,” Avery told GeoBeats Animals.
Since Tyla was kept in a crate her whole life, she didn’t know what a bed was and she didn’t like being in a crate in her foster home. She destroyed anything she found in the crate.
In order to get used to her crate, Tyla underwent training and now she finally enjoys sleeping on her bed in her crate when her foster parents aren’t home.
The Sweet Dog Hopes To Find A Forever Home
In the beginning, the pup couldn’t walk on concrete because of her paw infection, so Avery took her on walks on soft surfaces.
As time went by, her paws healed completely and Tyla enjoyed going on walks. She gained weight and made a full recovery.
Her foster mom is extremely proud of the progress Tyla has made. She considers her the perfect pup and is amazed by her loving personality.
“Even though Tyla was clearly mistreated by humans, has a rough past, she definitely does not let that affect her. She is still so loving towards humans and so trusting of them, which is just amazing that she is able to come this far,” Avery added.
Tyla, who still lives in her foster home in North Carolina, is searching for a forever home. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have any applications so far, but she hopes that that will soon change.
