Maggie’s journey toward love and happiness wasn’t easy. Heartless people dumped her, along with her mom and littermates in the woods in Joplin, Missouri.
Since the canine family was left to fend for themselves when they most needed human love and care, they felt scared and helpless.
In search of food, Maggie wandered off and fell into a ditch.
A Good Samaritan came across the abandoned doggy family and rescued them, not knowing that Maggie was nearby.
The little puppy remained in the ditch. She wanted to return to her mom and her littermates, but she didn’t know the way.
Discovering Human Love
Luckily, another kind-hearted person discovered her and came to her aid. He brought her to safety and posted her story along with her photo on Facebook.
When Hannah Baker stumbled on the post and saw Maggie for the first time, she fell in love.
Baker and her fiance adopted Maggie and brought her home.
“I knew immediately she was the dog for us!” Baker told The Dodo.
Maggie settled into her home right away. She felt safe and loved.
The pup had a great time with her parents and formed new routines.
Going on walks was her mandatory and favorite activity. Maggie adores her parents and refuses to go on walks unless both of them go with her.
Adorable Routine
Maggie doesn’t sleep with her mom because she adores sleeping on the couch.
However, as soon as she wakes up every morning, she misses her mom and runs toward her parents’ bedroom.
Although the door is open and Maggie can enter it anytime, she sits in front of the bedroom and waits for her parent’s permission to enter.
As she sits on the floor, she peeks around the corner and looks at her mom, waiting to hear her two favorite words.
“One morning, I woke up and saw her at the door and said, ‘Good morning,’ and she jumped up on the bed and has been doing it ever since. She essentially taught herself this,” Baker added.
Maggie becomes overjoyed whenever she hears her mom say her two favorite words. She jumps on the bed, wags her tail with excitement, and starts cuddling with her.
After her morning snuggles with her mom, the pup is ready to start her day.
Baker adores Maggie and loves seeing her waiting by her door when she wakes up. She considers her ‘a very independent dog with a big personality.’
Maggie lives her dream life in Missouri. She enjoys every moment she spends with her forever humans. Her favorite activities are going on walks, playing with toys, and having pup cups.
