When approaching a scared, stray dog, the most important thing to do is take it slow. If they are frightened, then it’s probably for a good reason and they can possibly lash out.
Most just want some food and comfort, so the best approach would be to give them something to eat. If they see you mean no harm, they might develop trust in you.
In this story, we will talk about a dog who went through a similar situation, but thanks to his wonderful rescuer, he is now finally safe.
Scared Pup Living In An Alley
It was an ordinary day when a group of rescuers from Stray Rescue of St. Louis found a stray dog living in a small alley and waiting for help.
Upon finding him, his rescuer noticed that the dog started getting really frightened, so she stood back and tried to help him relax by talking to him.
She tried getting closer and closer, but it didn’t do anything to deter his fears. He was still very uneasy in her presence.
The woman noticed that he had a fresh bowl of food and water there, so somebody had been taking care of him for a while before she showed up.
It really just goes to show you that kind people like this really exist and it’s amazing to see that they helped this poor pup.
However, in order to help him trust her, the woman gave him a small piece of food, which he gladly took and ate.
A Small Gesture Of Kindness
And, merely a few moments later, the dog got up from his small place and approached his rescuer.
It was a very rainy day, which meant that he must have also been freezing in this weather, and that meant that they had to get out of there fast.
The woman gave him some cuddles, and he finally saw that she had good intentions and that she just wanted to help him.
She then took the dog into her car and back to the St. Louis shelter where he could receive proper help.
After it was established that he was a really healthy dog, it was time to find him a foster home and possibly a new family soon.
While we don’t have any information on what happened to this lovable dog, we are pretty confident that he is now in a warm home with people who care about him.
