It’s a cruel thing for any dog who has to endure neglectful people. This is a problem that is all too known in the world.
Sometimes, these pups go through physical abuse or are just ignored by other people and their owners. This can cause severe trauma in dogs, and it makes it really hard for them to recover.
However, the dog that we will be talking about is different. Even after he was hit by a car, he didn’t despair and still managed to keep his faith in people.
He tried to survive on his own after the accident, but he struggled to walk. Luckily for him, someone would see his pain and decide to help.
He Looked So Weak
When a kind group of rescuers came to their usual spot to feed the stray dogs, they noticed that one of them was limping.
They asked around and a guard told them about the accident. The worst part is, the driver got out of the car and beat up the dog.
I just can’t believe this. This was the most shocking thing so far. How can anyone do something like this to an innocent dog? It’s beyond cruel.
The rescuers went back to the dog and noticed that he was a little scared of being hit again, but he trusted these people. They gave him some food and tried to comfort him after what he had been through.
When they examined him, they realized that he really needed a visit to the clinic, so they took him in their car and drove there immediately.
After they arrived at the vet, the dog, now named Barney, received a thorough examination and the results were quite shocking.
He had bullet fragments in his leg, and another leg and a toe was broken. Because he was really depressed and anemic, it would be unwise to perform surgery on him right away.
They decided to keep him at the clinic for a while, but they let him roam around to help him get comfortable with being inside.
After he recovered a little bit, they decided to go ahead with the surgery, which was a success. Barney was now finally on the path to full recovery.
Barney Has Recovered
However, just as things were going well, something terrible happened. Barney had escaped from the clinic and the veterinarians didn’t know where he was.
His rescuers went back for him and thought it was going to be easy to find him, but the problem seemed to get bigger with every minute.
They spent a week looking for him with no results until one of the rescuers finally saw Barney and decided to lure him with a custom-made trap.
The rescuers were successful and Barney was finally safe. Because he had escaped from the clinic, they didn’t want to lose him again, so he was placed in a foster home.
His veterinarians removed all the ticks and did another checkup to make sure he didn’t contract Sepsis. Fortunately, he was going to be okay.
In the new home, his foster parents did everything to help him recover and he also had the help of his new dog friend, Lasi.
Eventually, his leg would recover and he would learn how to use it again with some careful therapy.
Now that he was a happy and healthy dog, his rescuers started looking for a forever home for him.
They were able to find the most wonderful family ever and he was taken to meet them. He has many new siblings and his life is finally complete. His rescuers are so proud and happy for him.
