Working as a rescuer who actively tries to save dogs on the street can’t be an easy job. More often than not, it takes hours to rescue these puppies.
Many of them are so terrified of other people that it becomes impossible to get near them, and that’s why it’s such a tough job.
When rescuers have exhausted most of their options, they usually try a humane trap. Since most dogs are usually very hungry, they will go for the food in the kennel.
It’s the only way to really help them. Stories like this happen all the time, and it happened for Suzette Hall, who was just trying to help a sweet dog and give her a new chance.
She Was Hiding In The Bushes

After Hall learned about this pup who was living in the bushes near a bank drive-thru in California, she knew that she had to react fast.
A kind woman named Crystal helped this pup by giving it a small crate to sleep in because it would rain all the time and the pup had no shelter from it.
This was great because it meant that the pup would likely stay in one spot the whole time. When Hall came to help her, she was surprised by how timid the pup was.
There was no way to help her fast. She tried hopelessly to rescue her for days, but it didn’t work. Her traps were also useless.

The small problem was that the employees there often fed her so she never had a reason to go for the food inside the kennel.
While it’s absolutely amazing to see the kindness these people were showing a stray dog outside of their workplace, it hindered Hall’s progress.
Hall wouldn’t give up, though. She kept trying. At one point, her car broke down, so she had to borrow her mom’s old car, which didn’t have all the equipment.
Hall Was Finally Successful

She called a friend named Lorena Zeballos to help her and they tried coming up with a new solution. It was really a simple one.
The bank didn’t work on Sundays, so they knew that the pup would not be fed that day. They placed their trap again and just waited.
They realized how spooked the pup was at everything around her. She would sometimes come out of the bush only to notice something that scared her so she went back.
This made their rescue really difficult, but they knew that Sunday was the day she was going to be rescued. Then, the pup saw the trap.

After circling around it for a bit, she went inside for the food and the trap was successful. She was safely secured and the two rescuers breathed a sigh of relief.
Hall spent so many days trying to save this dog and now she finally did it. The pup reached out to them with her paw, almost like she knew that she was saved.
Now that she is finally in good hands, Hall will do her best to help this pup recover and find a new home as soon as possible.
This story really showed us how important it is to persevere and try to help despite the odds being stacked against us. Hall tried to help for several days and her effort paid off. I am so happy everything turned out okay.
