There is no greater heartbreak for a true dog lover than to see a poor abandoned dog left to fend for itself on the street. Sadly, it is no longer a surprise at all because abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs are around every corner.
This is exactly what one man was best convinced of when he saw a black and white dog lying in front of his workplace.
However, the dog was not entirely alone, at least at first…
All Alone
This man was even more heartbroken when he saw that the dog, who had been heartlessly abandoned by his family, had a bag of toys right next to her.
Since this dog’s whole world collapsed because her family betrayed her, her only solace were those toys.
Although he truly wanted to, this man couldn’t do anything to help the poor pooch at that moment. For this reason, he called his friend Evelyn Flores, who he knew would be happy to help.
Flores couldn’t come to help the dog that day, but that’s why she went to that place the very next morning. Unfortunately, that morning she witnessed another heartbreak for this poor doggo.
“Someone had stolen the bag of toys,” Flores told The Dodo. “They left the bag empty.”
After her family abandoned her, this poor dog was left without her fluffy friends as well. Because of heartless people, she was all alone.
Never Alone Again!
Evelyn couldn’t believe that there were people who were ready to do such a thing to a helpless little being. She was totally heartbroken and disappointed, but that motivated her to do the right thing.
Although she already had eight dogs at home, Evelyn couldn’t just leave this one like that on the street. That’s why she decided to give her a foster home until she finds a forever one.
As soon as they came home, Evelyn named her Dulce — Spanish for “sweet.”
“I chose the name because she is very affectionate, grateful, loving, and obedient,” this big-hearted woman stated.
Dulce adapted very quickly to her new home and family, and Evelyn fell in love with her so much that she couldn’t imagine life without her anymore.
That’s why she made the biggest decision — instead of a temporary home, she gave Dulce a forever one. After that, Dulce became a happiest dog who, to this day, is surrounded by love.
“We try to give her a lot of love because we know that she was mistreated,” Evelyn said. “She came to us skinny, and now she is chubby.”
The day she rescued her from the street, Evelyn promised Dulce that she would never be alone again. Two years later, she showed that she had fulfilled her promise.
