Owner Refused To Give Up On A Pup With A Limp And Now He Is Running Around With A Smile

Every single dog owner out there has their camera roll full of photos and videos of their pups.

And, it’s not just because they want to look at them when they miss them when they go out… it’s actually because they want to show everybody just how incredible their furry baby is.

And, who can blame them?

One such proud owner is Leah Alisse, of Temecula, California. Her TikTok page is full of photos of her adorable Rottweiler pup, Gunther, and recently, one video stole the hearts of users all over the world.

They Grow Up So Fat

Alisse met Gunther when he was just a 10-week-old puppy. Because he had a limp while walking, he was the only pup of the litter that nobody wanted to adopt.

In many such cases, the pups usually end up being euthanized, but Alisse simply couldn’t let that happen to this adorable boy.

So, she opened up her warm home and adopted the pup.

Even though she knew it was the best decision she had made in her entire life, she was still quite nervous. Whenever Gunther tried to stand up on his paws, he would immediately start wobbling.

“It was really shocking and heartbreaking to see because it looked so painful. His leg had no stability at the ankle joint and was just bending on itself. The breeder said the limp appeared when he was a few weeks old, but his X-rays showed no breaks and didn’t offer any solutions,” she said in an interview

Wanting to give him the best life possible, Alisse began researching for answers. One of the vets told her that his limp was probably due to nerve damage after being sat on or dropped by his mom.

When Stars Align

Because her father-in-law was doing some physical therapy for a foot drop, Alisse had the bright idea to do the same to Gunther.

So, she began giving him some massages and doing stretches and exercises on his leg. In a matter of days, she noticed something incredible! Gunther’s walk was so much better.

“Within days, he already had stability on his leg and was running around trying to play with our other dogs, a husky and a rottweiler. His leg would still give out, but it was such a huge improvement in a short amount of time. Within two weeks his leg was hardly giving out anymore,” she stated.

Two years have passed and Gunther is your average happy and healthy pup! And, his family couldn’t be more proud.

He absolutely loves running around in fields and playing with everybody he comes across. Even though he still has some laxity in his ankles, he is able to move around like a regular pup.

“We are just so lucky to have Gunther. We had no idea we would be bringing him home that day, but he has been the sweetest and most well-behaved boy since the day we brought him home. He will play fetch all day if you let him, and he takes his ball everywhere with him,” she concluded.
