The life of a sweet deaf dog named Joy has never been easy. When her owners abandoned her at an overcrowded shelter while she was heavily pregnant, the doggo felt confused.
She didn’t understand why she was betrayed when she most needed love and care.
When her babies came into the world, Joy cared for them with a lot of love and hoped that they would find loving families who would never give them up.
Her wish came true and all her babies got adopted. Joy moved to Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary in Kansas, believing that she, too, would find someone who would give her love.
Sweet Joy

The staff and volunteers at the sanctuary fell in love with Joy and her adorable personality. They enjoyed taking her on walks and she always brought a smile to their faces.
Joy’s human friends were certain that she would soon steal someone’s heart. She had all the qualities that potential adopters could want in a dog.
“Miss Joy loves going for long walks, playing in the yard, and collecting all the stuffies! She is very playful, sweet, and full of personality. Little tiny bestie is the best companion anyone could ever ask for,” Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary wrote on Facebook.
Thanks to the amazing staff that showered her with love, Joy quickly adapted to life at the sanctuary and started dreaming of meeting her forever family.
In the beginning, her heart was filled with hope for a better tomorrow.
However, as time went by and she kept getting overlooked, Joy’s hope started fading.
Over the past years, Joy has been placed in and out of several foster homes.
She adores people but when it comes to her four-legged pals, Joy is somewhat picky. She has a preference for big dogs like herself instead of little ones.
The Pup Doesn’t Give Up Hope
Joy has overcome her hearing impairment by mastering sign language for important phrases like “I love you,” “good girl,” “sit,” “no,” “leave it,” “peanut butter,” “walk,” “drink,” and “eat.”
Sadly, although the pup was such a good girl, nobody expressed an interest in meeting her.

As Joy watched her doggy friends leave the shelter in the arms of their humans, she started wondering why nobody chose her.
Her friends at the sanctuary comfort Joy, telling her that her forever family will soon arrive.
“… She’s been wondering why she hasn’t been picked yet. We keep telling her she’s the best girl in the world and they always save the best for last,” the Kansas sanctuary wrote in a Facebook post.

Joy continues waiting for her family, firmly believing that one day, they will take her in their arms and never let her go.
I hope that the sweet doggo will soon receive the happiest news that she has been waiting for so long.
