A kind-hearted man was on his way to work when he spotted a pile of trash scattered along the road. As he approached the pile, he saw a fluffy creature trembling and looking at him with the saddest look on his face.
The man immediately screeched to a stop and rushed to help him.
He felt both heartbroken and shocked when he discovered that a furry figure was a little 10-week-old puppy.
The pup was sitting between an old couch and a broken TV, trying to find shelter from the cold. He hoped that the Good Samaritan would help him.
The Good People Help The Little Pup
Although the kind man had to go to work, he couldn’t bear to leave the pup all alone in the cold. He wrapped him in his jacket and brought him to his car.
He took the adorable puppy, later named Odie, to his workplace and kept him in his work truck with the heat on.
The man’s colleagues were happy to take care of the puppy.
They fed him, and after their shift ended, the puppy’s rescuer took him home.
He reached out to ThisIsHouston, a rescue group based in Houston, Texas. He told them about Odie’s situation, sent them his photo, and asked them to help him.
Although the rescue organization usually takes adult dogs with medical issues under their care, Odie stole their hearts and they decided to take him in.
“We do also take on little nuggets like Odie [because] his life matters greatly to us!” Karlin Medlin of ThisIsHouston told The Dodo.
Odie Finds The Love He Deserved
Medlin offered to foster him and the two kind-hearted people transported him to her house.
When Odie moved into his foster home in Houston, he was shy and insecure.
Medlin and her family gave him a lot of love and made him feel at home.
Odie was glad to meet Peppa, the family’s dog who quickly became his best friend and who helped him get rid of his fears and enjoy life.
The sweet puppy was also enchanted with his five human foster siblings who showered him with love and attention. Odie soaked up all their cuddles and put his fears behind him.
“We have five children, and he LOVES to interact with them. He is particularly smitten with our 7-year-old son, and they are constant companions. His days consist of constant play time, all the food and snacks his little heart desires, and never-ending love. What a different life he is living now,” Medlin added.
Thanks to the immense love Odie received in his foster home, he flourished into a confident pup.
While he enjoyed his time with his foster family, his human friends at ThisIsHouston began searching for his forever family.
Before long, Odie stole the heart of a great family who adopted him and promised to love him forever.
From a sad puppy who lived next to a pile of trash, Odie turned into a happy dog who lives his dream life with his forever family.
