Just like hoomans, pups need a little spa day every now and then.
Their long and silky fur needs to be washed, combed, and cut, and their nails need to be trimmed.
And, since they can’t do this themselves, they rely on their two-legged friends for help. If they fail to do so, they can end up in quite sticky situations. One stray pup who had nobody to take care of him had this exact problem.
What Is That?
While walking down a street, a man noticed a brown mass walking aimlessly around a park. After taking a closer look, he noticed that it was actually a pup whose fur was severely mated.
“He did not want to approach us. He looked like a piece of wood,” the rescuer told The Dodo.
Knowing that he needed some help, the man decided to call the local animal shelter for help. Even though they believed that catching this pup would be quite easy, they were soon proven wrong since they spent two whole hours trying to catch him.
After finally catching the pup and placing him inside of a kennel, the rescuers were able to take him to the vet for a much-needed spa day.
“I was just devastated about what condition he was in. He was just in the worst condition I ever saw,” he added.
Let’s Get You Cleaned Up
Because they knew how painful the mats were, the vets had to sedate the pup in order to get the mats removed without any additional injuries.
After a haircut that lasted hours, they were finally done. When they saw what this puppy looked like without the dirty mats, they couldn’t believe their eyes.
Not only was he a completely different dog, but he also had a new zest for life.
He was no longer fearful of hoomans and absolutely loved spending time with them. Whether he was playing in the park or enjoying a relaxing walk, this pup loved it all!
And, since he came out of his shell, it came as no surprise when a loving family noticed him and decided to make him a part of their loving family.
Now, this adorable pup spends his days playing with his new family and having cozy naps in his warm bed.
Knowing that they were able to help him completely turn his life upside down, the rescuer, along with the vet staff, were absolutely overjoyed.
