When a little puppy was saved and brought to the vet, he needed immediate medical attention. Since one of his eyes had a severe infection, the vet was forced to remove it.
At the same exact time, the shelter welcomed Daya, a pregnant mama dog who was expecting a litter of puppies. However, because of some compilations, this sweet dog did not end up giving birth.
Sad Fate
Not being able to meet the babies she was eagerly expecting, Daya felt depressed.
Even though she was spending time in a warm and loving foster home, Daya simply couldn’t shake off the sadness in her heart.
Seeing her like this, Daya’s foster mom knew that she needed help in order to heal from her loss.
Luckily, the shelter had a plan. Since they had both of these puppies who needed help, they thought that they could help each other.
They made a post, asking if somebody would be willing to take in both the small, orphaned puppy and the mourning mother, helping both of them heal.
After some time of waiting for an answer, the shelter finally received a message from a kind-hearted woman stating that she was willing to help!
Foster Home
After picking up Daya and the small puppy, who they named Raisin, they eagerly brought them to their home.
At first, they were quite shocked when they saw how tiny Raisin was, but also by how quickly Daya took up for him.
She immediately started baiting little Raisin, seeing her as one of her own.
“She took Raisin right in. Daya was very protective and I think kind of proud of Raisin,” said Katie, Raisin and Daya’s foster mom.
As soon as Raisin felt Daya’s love, she was one happy pup. She immediately started reciprocating the love, showing Daya how much she mattered to her.
When their foster parents saw this affectionate act, they knew that the duo would get along perfectly.
After some time, both Daya and Raisin started feeling much better. Daya was able to overcome her depression and she soon found her loving forever home.
As for Raisin, his foster parents simply couldn’t part ways with him, so they decided to adopt the cute little fellow themselves.
Forever Home
Being with them as a foster pup, Raisin had no trouble with having Katie and her husband as his forever parents.
After Daya was out, I think we were pretty much dead set on having her.
Since they already had a dog before Raisin and Daya, which was named Charlie, Raisin had no issues with being friends with him, and that is probably thanks to Daya.
At first, Charlie was a bit hesitant with Raisin. Since he was such a big dog and Raisin was so small, he just couldn’t help but be overly cautious with her.
Once he realized that she’s a strong, feisty little puppy, they are best friends now.
Charlie is very protective over his little sister, trying his best to keep her safe, but also showering her with love and affection.
I think he has assumed a lot of maternal qualities with her even though that’s a foreign concept to him because he hasn’t been around a litter of puppies ever before.
Final Word
The bond Daya and Raisin have served as proof that animals can form strong bonds and help each other go through tough times.
The love and affection Daya showed Raisin allowed Raisin to create a powerful connection with her new brother, Charlie.
Charlie and Raisin are now filling each other’s days with nothing but fun, love, and affection, and their hoomans just couldn’t be happier.
