Patch was only a five-week-old puppy when cruel people left him on the side of a road.
Feeling terribly scared and lonely, the pup kept whimpering. He didn’t know where to go.
All that Patch knew was that he desperately needed help. He was sick and he was running out of strength to continue fighting for his survival on the streets.
Despite feeling sorrowful, Patch’s heart glimmered with hope that his luck would change for the better.
A Good Soul Finds Patch
When Eli, the founder of Street Paws, an animal rescue, spotted Patch on the roadside, her heart sank.
The pup was in terrible condition. His skin was sore and he almost had no fur on his body.
He was frightened and confused.
Worried that Patch would start running toward the busy road and put his life in danger, the rescuer decided to gain his trust and approach him slowly.
She consoled the puppy and offered him some food.
Patch was starving and he gulped all the food that Eli gave him.
Sensing that she wanted to help him, the crying puppy came up to her and kissed her hands.
The moment the rescuer picked him up and wrapped him in a towel, Patch stopped crying. His eyes became hopeful.
Eli knew that the pup needed medical help and she rushed him to a clinic.
The vet examined him. Patch’s belly was swollen because he was infested with worms. He was diagnosed with mange and severe anemia.
The puppy’s rescuer assumed that he was dumped on the street because he was sick.
After Patch was prescribed the necessary treatment, Eli took him home.
The Pup Undergoes A Transformation
She cared for him and gave him a ton of love.
Little by little, Patch’s fear started wearing off and he began showing his affectionate personality. He planted many sweet kisses on Eli’s face.
As weeks went by, the puppy’s skin healed and the first strands of fur began appearing on his body. Slowly but surely, Patch’s appearance started changing.
Three months after he was rescued, he completed his transformation and turned into a gorgeous and healthy pup.
“He looked like a totally different dog, and he had all this beautiful black and white fur on him,” Eli told The Dodo.
Patch came a long way. From a frightened crying puppy, he flourished into a confident dog who started enjoying life to the fullest.
One of his favorite activities is riding in the car and sticking his head out the window.
Although Patch enjoys his time with Eli, he can’t wait to get his happy ending. He longs to find a permanent home and parents who will love him immensely.
I hope that Patch will soon ride into the sunset with his forever family.
