There is no nobler act than saving someone’s life. It is often impossible to do this without risking your own, but if this is not the case, there is no reason not to do it.
Nikki Epie, an intern at a vet clinic, knew this best when she offered her Labrador and Golden Retriever mix to donate blood for another dog in need.
In the meantime, the people at the clinic managed to find another blood donor. However, her five-year-old dog named Pipay still remained in circulation for the needs of some other dogs in the future.
A month later, that happened and Pipay’s time had finally come.
A Noble Deed That Saved A Life
In the middle of the night, at 1:30 a.m., Nikki’s phone rang, and when she saw that it was from Highland Vets Animal Clinic, she immediately guessed what it could be. The clinic reported that they urgently needed a blood donor for one puppy that had zero hemoglobin.
Having also been told that the puppy wouldn’t survive until sunrise if he didn’t get blood quickly, Nikki immediately jumped out of bed and started to wake Pipay up.
After a few grumpy yawns, Pipay managed to wake up, and when she realized that they were leaving the house for a walk, she even got excited.
Unfortunately, this only caused problems for Nikki because she had to “chase” her for 15 minutes to finally get her into the car. Luckily, the clinic was not far away, so after all the difficulties, they still managed to arrive on time.
Immediately after she was admitted, Pipay was put to sleep. After that, it took them a little longer to find her vein because, as Nikki said, Pipay was “a little too chonky.”
Fortunately, everything ended well and the puppy received the much-needed blood that saved his life. Nikki also posted a video via her TikTok account showing all the events that took place that night.

Since Nikki shared the video on her TikTok account, @nikkichang, many TikTok users were able to witness the noble deed of saving someone’s life.
Accordingly, the video attracted a lot of attention and caused numerous reactions, and we decided to highlight some of the comments.
“god bless you po and your dog! the poor pup looks really weak hope the little one recovers” one user wrote.
“He’s like a retired superhero saying “someone needs saving again?? Fineee” HAHAHAHA CUTIE BEST DOGGO!” another one added.

Many users also wondered how Pipay felt after everything and what happened to the puppy. Nikki had some good news for all of them.
“My dog is back to her happy, healthy self after that,” Nikki told Newsweek. “We got home around 4 a.m. that morning because I had to wait till she could walk on her own because she’s around 29 kilograms and I could not carry her home if I did not wait for her grogginess to go away.”
As for the puppy, he is stable, and most importantly, making a successful recovery, meaning that this heartwarming story had its ultimate happy ending.
