As someone who has lived in a rural area of a city, I have to say that it certainly has its perks. Sometimes, life can be really surprising.
I have seen my fair share of strange animals coming onto the property, sometimes even stray cats and dogs, but nothing that wouldn’t be expected in my area.
It was a part of living in a rural area and I didn’t mind it at all. In fact, being visited by the animals always filled me with joy.
However, for this homeowner from Arizona, the situation was quite different. She woke up in the morning and went into her sunroom only to find three furry creatures relaxing there.
What Are They

It didn’t take Jenny Wantland a second to figure out that there were three javelinas in her sunroom. They were lying below her foosball table.
It’s not her first experience with a javelina. She had first met a javelina named Hector when she moved into her new home, so she knew what they were like.
Jenny told The Dodo: “Hector had a hurt back leg and was limping a lot when we first met. It almost seemed like he came to our house for a safe retreat, always lying down on our front porch.”
She also noted that before she bought the house, nobody had been occupying it, so it’s possible that the animals got used to coming there to relax in the shade.

I mean, after all… it was Arizona. Even the animals sometimes need a break from the weather there, so Jenny didn’t mind it.
As time went on, Hector and Jenny formed a bond and it became gradually clear that this javelina wanted to stay with her.
He first observed Jenny from a distance. Later on, he got closer and closer. Then, he started visiting on a daily basis. Jenny continues by saying: “I think it’s amazing that a natural relationship was created.”
Start Of A Beautiful Friendship

Eventually, he just moved in with her. However, considering that he was still very much a wild animal, Jenny understood that he would spend a lot of time away from her and doing his own thing.
When Jenny caught him and his friends just lying under the foosball table, Hector didn’t really care at all. They just enjoyed each other’s company.
She was still not clear as to how they were able to get inside her house. Her main idea was that they pushed through the screen door.
It’s apparent that they wanted some shade, so the javelinas followed Hector into the place where he usually relaxes on his own.

Jenny said: “I’m unsure how they got in there, my only thought is maybe they pushed through the screen door and it unlatched and then closed behind them?”
She opened the door again because she was interested in their reaction. However, they remained unfazed and just relaxed for a bit longer before leaving.
Overall, this was a very surprising and pleasant experience for Jenny. She thought it was hilarious how Hector invited his friends over.
She ends by saying: “Life with Hector and his friends feels so special and unique. There’s no give or take, no training or feeding, just an understanding that maybe we both aren’t as scary as the other thought.”
