When a good human named Heather came across the ad, she knew that she had to help the canine.
She agreed to foster Cash for two weeks.
When the doggo arrived with his rescuer at Heather’s home in California, she was shocked by his state.
“I was speechless with the size of him and just really how scared he was,” Heather told GeoBeats Animals.
The Great Dane was terrified of people. Whenever someone came to the door, he became extremely skittish and nervous, and he ran to the corner of the room.
His foster family gave him toys but Cash didn’t know how to play with them.
Since the good humans didn’t have experience in fostering a deaf dog, they did extensive research. The pup’s fosters learned that they needed to approach him with great caution.
Cash was nervous around his foster family’s other animals.
On one occasion, he acted out on Heather’s other senior citizen dog. Since the incident occurred over food, the family decided to feed Cash separately and walk him separately.
The doggo’s fosters took exceptional care of the Great Dane and they lavished him with attention.
Cash started gaining weight.
Little by little, the pup began realizing that he could trust his foster family and that they wouldn’t abandon him like his previous owners.

Discovering Love For The First Time
Three months later, Cash settled into his foster home and began hanging out with the other dogs.
The lovely Great Dane captured the hearts of his foster parents. They couldn’t picture their lives without him and they decided to make him a permanent member of the family.
The canine adored his family and felt extremely grateful to them for giving him the loving home he always wanted.
Wishing to express his appreciation and love, Cash started bringing toys to his mom.
Although the canine succeeded in overcoming his trauma, he still acts in a strange way when he meets men who wear a baseball cap.
His family assumes that he had a negative experience in the past with a man who wore a baseball cap.
Whenever they go out and someone wearing a hat approaches them, Cash’s family explains the situation to them and asks them to take it off.
The doggo loves spending time with his parents.
Cash’s dad is a runner, and the pup runs with him for three to six miles a day. It’s his favorite part of the day.
