Have you found yourself in a situation where you spent years with your dog in the same household only to learn that your pup has an unusual talent or behavior?
Well, apparently, that happens to some people, and seeing a dog exhibit behavior never seen before is most definitely amusing.
The thing that surprised me the most was seeing my dog run at least 5 laps around the house whenever he got outside. It was like a ritual for him.
However, what this family from South Carolina witnessed was completely different. They started noticing their pup doing something odd whenever he saw another animal and it’s just hilarious.
How Does He Do That?

When Clyde’s family first adopted him, they had no idea how interesting a life with him would be. He was a Vizsla, which is a dog breed that is typically employed in hunting jobs.
This meant that Clyde showed some behaviors that were specific to that breed, but his family was shocked to see it.
Basically, whenever he saw some other animal in the yard, he would completely freeze and just stare at it. That’s all he did. He never once made any other move.

Clyde’s mom, Caitlin, told The Dodo: “It started with butterflies in the yard and random things around the house, like toilet paper rolls. The instincts are so ingrained in him, he does it without training!”
His family noted that he had been doing this since he was a puppy, so it’s not a new thing. Clyde got really good at it. Considering his breed is known for hunting, it kind of makes sense.
Sometimes, the South Carolina family would even have a hard time figuring out what exactly he was staring at because it would be something really small.
Clyde’s Adventures

Clyde’s family loved to record his adventures and they would post most of them on their pup’s Instagram profile.
Caitlin continues by saying: “My husband was laughing that this reel went so viral because, to us, Clyde standing stock still in the backyard for minutes at a time is so normal to us we barely even notice it!”
His family was stunned by people’s reactions to this. To them, this was just an ordinary day, but everyone online was fascinated by this sweet pup.

They noted that Clyde’s behavior is often like ‘falling into a trance’ because he focuses so much on the animal in front of him.
His family loves seeing it because it’s basically like an exercise for his brain. Aside from mental stimulation, this pup also loves running around the beach and playing with his family.
It’s heartwarming to see just how dog’s odd and funny behaviors always bring so much joy to people. Dogs truly are our best friends.
