Seeing stray dogs is not something uncommon and almost every country in the world has them. What is surprising, however, is seeing just how much apathy people can have toward dogs.
Most people will see the same pup on the street for many months, but end up doing nothing about it. They have many opportunities to call for help, and it never happens.
It is all too common in the world, and it’s something that really needs to change. These dogs did nothing to deserve living like this, and all of us have the power to help, even if it’s not much.
This adorable pup spent his days living in the same parking lot for over 3 months, where there was a lot of traffic, but everyone just ignored him. Then, a kind rescuer noticed the dog and decided to intervene.
A Three Day Rescue
When Suzette Hall saw this sweet dog, she was in shock to realize that many people walked past him every day and did nothing.
However, that wasn’t important now. She had to focus on the task at hand, so she turned her attention to helping this sweet pooch.
Hall told The Dodo: “We set up traps in all three of his spots where he would lay. After three days, we were finally able to catch him.”
When the dog, now named Coconut, was finally secured, Hall went to pet him and she finally realized just how matted and dirty he was.
He needed a grooming appointment and a warm bath as soon as possible. So, she took him to a veterinarian clinic in California where they gave him the treatment he needed.
When he was finally clean, Hall noticed something in him change. It looked like a huge weight had been lifted off him. The pup finally looked relaxed.
Hall said: “He was a little scared, but then he just looked at me and it was like he knew he was safe. I tried to just make everything so special.”
She took him to a beach and this was a completely new experience for him. Even though he didn’t know what to make of it, Coconut looked happy to be with his rescuer.
A New Life With Foster Mom
Coconut was now in a foster home in California with someone really amazing.
He was a bit confused at first, because he was not used to being in a new house, but you could just tell that he really liked his new foster mom.
Coconut was starting to make friends with his foster home’s bunnies. He loved playing with them and they always looked so happy in his presence. It was adorable.
Hall said: “After all he’s been through, he is an amazing dog. He gets along with bunnies, he gets along with other dogs and even cats.”
His new foster mom and his rescuer were convinced that he would easily fit in any family, because Coconut was just so wonderful.
Even though he was alone through everything before, he is still a kind and very cheerful dog. His rescuers will try to find the most perfect family for him because he deserves it.
While we don’t know what happened next in Coconut’s story, it’s safe to assume that a dog this sweet will find a forever home soon. I am sure he is living his best life with someone special.
