Helpless and terrified… That’s how Pluto, the hero of this story, felt after he was hit by a car and left to perish on a highway.
The doggo was severely injured and barely clinging to life. All he could do was wait and hope that someone would spot him, offer him a helping hand, and promise him that everything would be alright.
Thankfully, a Good Samaritan came across the injured pup, and he was rushed to a shelter where the medical team started fighting for his life.
Pluto Is A Fighter
A Georgia shelter took Pluto in and decided to stay by his side as he fought the most important battle of his life.
An X-ray showed that he had a broken jaw, a shattered pelvis, and a damaged tail.
Despite the terrible injuries, Pluto never thought about giving up. The doggo spent six months at the shelter, fighting to survive.
He underwent multiple surgeries, and fortunately, he pulled through.
Nobody could tell whether Pluto would walk again, but his caregivers never let him feel hopeless. They showered him with love and filled his heart with hope.
The pup was persistent, and he continued making an effort to stand on his paws, taking it day by day. Pluto’s shelter friends were thrilled when he started walking again.
“Finally he did start walking again slowly. That was a huge moment of happiness and joy for us,” Emi, a shelter staff member, told Cuddle Buddies.
Once Pluto was ready to start looking for a home, Waldo’s Rescue Pen, a rescue located in New York, took him in.
Sweet Life In A Foster Home
They placed him in a loving foster home.
In the beginning, Pluto was guarded toward his foster mom, Clare. She noticed that, so she gave him space to decompress and adjust to his new home.
It didn’t take long for Pluto to realize that he could trust his foster mom. He began letting his guard down and cuddling with her.
Since he felt safe, the pup let his goofy personality shine through.
As time passed, Pluto’s bond with his foster family became stronger. He was grateful and affectionate toward them.
“Whatever I’m doing, he’s looking at me with so much affection. It’s the sweetest thing ever,” Clare told Cuddle Buddies.
Hoping To Find The Love Of His Life
Everyone at Waldo’s Rescue Pen is smitten with Pluto, and they believe that he would make the perfect furry companion. He loves adventures and enjoys exploring outdoors.
Although Pluto was hurt and let down in the past, his heart is full of love toward humans. There is nothing that he loves more than cuddling with his favorite people.
“When it’s cuddle time, Pluto is your go-to guy. He’s incredibly sweet and loves nothing more than snuggling up with you on the couch or curling up in bed for a cozy night’s sleep,” Waldo’s Rescue Pen wrote on Facebook.
The sweet pup is now looking for a forever family who will open their heart to him and adore him with their whole heart.
