When a lonely stray dog appeared at a parking lot of a Hyatt hotel in Texas, the hotel staff and guests were surprised to see him.
Sensing that these humans would show him kindness, the pup started coming to the parking lot every night.
Everyone at the hotel was delighted with him. They fed him and treated him affectionately.
They didn’t know anything about him except for the fact that he needed companionship and a lot of love.
Capturing The Dog
The hotel guests made sure that their little friend ate delicious dishes.
“They were all coming back from their restaurants with — I’m not lying to you — gourmet meals, like steak … a whole pork chop and fajitas,” Jodi Leslie, the director of community outreach at Three Little Pitties Rescue told The Dodo.
The dog was grateful for their kindness and help.
One day, a woman staying at the same hotel spotted the dog as he roamed around.
Realizing that he was a stray, the Good Samaritan posted about him on Facebook, urging people to help him.
Fortunately, Three Little Pitties Rescue, a non-profit organization in Houston, Texas, happened to see the woman’s post.
When they found out that the pup lived in a parking lot for two months, the rescuers were determined to bring him to safety.
The team trapped the dog and one of the shelter staff members took him home.
Living in a foster home was extremely strange to the stray pup. He couldn’t relax and he felt drawn to life on the streets.
The next day, he escaped without a trace.
His foster mom searched for the doggo but to no avail.
“He was gone three days. She couldn’t find him anywhere. He was nowhere to be seen,” Leslie added.
The Pup’s New Beginning
Just when the team was on the verge of losing hope, the pup reappeared at the hotel parking lot, which was eight miles away from his foster home.
Nobody knew how the pooch managed to travel that far in three days, but they were happy to see him again.
The rescuers enlisted the help of professional trappers who succeeded in capturing the dog.
Leslie decided to foster the pup. She named him Hyatt after the hotel he was rescued from.
Hyatt’s friends at the hotel loved him and they were sad to see him leave. However, they knew that their little friend deserved a new beginning and a loving home.
It wasn’t easy for Hyatt to get used to his foster home. In the beginning, he felt anxious and nervous.
Leslie was certain that he never had a home or a loving family.
She gave the dog time to decompress and she showered him with love.
Hyatt met his foster mom’s own dogs and they began teaching him how to be a pet.
Slowly but surely, the pup started getting more comfortable.
Hyatt is still timid, but thanks to the patience and love that he received in his foster home, he is opening up more and more.
He likes jumping on Leslie’s bed and asking for cuddles.
The delightful pup feels ready to start a new life with his forever family. He hopes to find patient and loving parents and doggy siblings with whom he could play as much as he wants.
