Maggie was rescued from the streets and admitted to the Humane Society of Searcy in Arkansas when she was only a puppy.
It didn’t take long for the adorable pup to find an amazing family. An elderly couple fell in love with her and gave her a loving home.
Maggie was thrilled. She was convinced that it was her forever home, but sadly that wasn’t the case.
After living a wonderful life with her parents for a few years, her happiness came to an end.
The health of her elderly parents started declining and they had to make a decision that broke their hearts.
Back At The Shelter

Since Maggie’s parents had no other alternative but to move into assisted living, they could no longer care for their beloved pup and give her everything she deserved.
They were heartbroken when they realized that they had to return Maggie to the Humane Society of Searcy.
“Maggie’s parents loved her very much and were heartbroken to have to surrender her. They reported that she was a wonderful dog and is used to being in the house,” the shelter wrote on Facebook.
The doggo felt confused and scared when she started her life at the shelter, which was a far cry from the peaceful home she once knew.
The noisy environment and loneliness made Maggie feel stressed. The staff felt devastated to see her pacing in her kennel and hear her whimpering.
The doggo kept wondering where her parents were and why they weren’t picking her up. She missed them and wished to run into their arms and go home.
Being separated from her parents and deprived of their love had an impact on Maggie’s health, which soon started deteriorating.
The staff at the Arkansas shelter was terribly worried for her. They posted her story on social media, hoping that someone would fall in love with her and give her a home.
“She is rapidly declining in her kennel and is suffering from severe stress and anxiety,” the Humane Society of Searcy added.
Maggie’s Happy Ending

Maggie’s shelter friends also emphasized that the doggo was good with children and was also microchipped, spayed, and heartworm-negative.
She was ready to start a new life and she only needed someone to give her a chance.
The doggo’s heartbreaking story resonated deeply with the shelter’s Facebook followers who rooted for Maggie to find happiness as soon as possible.
Not long after the shelter shared the plea for help, a wonderful family came to the shelter and adopted Maggie.

The doggo was overjoyed to start a new chapter in her life with her forever humans.
Luckily, Maggie found her happily ever after but countless dogs are waiting in their shelter kennels for someone to take them home and give them the life every dog deserves.
