Poor Dog Ended Up In The Same Shelter For The Third Time In The Last 2 Years

Poor Dog Ended Up In The Same Shelter For The Third Time In The Last 2 Years

A shelter is not the right place for dogs, and we all know it. Yet, countless dogs still end up in these dark, cold places.

It is especially difficult for these innocent beings to endure the harsh conditions of a kennel after experiencing the warmth of a loving home — even more so when they are returned to the shelter yet again.

As heartbreaking as this is, some dogs face even worse fates, and a Pit Bull mix named Lynch is a living example.

This poor boy was recently returned to the shelter in Paris, Kentucky, for the third time.

Devastating Story

Paris Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) often shares heartbreaking stories about the dogs that have ended up in their shelters. However, the one they shared on November 26, 2024, is not “the typical sad story,” as they stated in the Facebook post

Namely, the story about Lynch started in May 2023 when he came to their shelter as a stray. Soon after that, he was reclaimed by his owner, only to be returned as a stray in February 2024 and never picked up.

A month later, he was adopted and these people thought that was finally it and that this suffering dog finally met his happy ending.

Sadly, in late November 2024, they realized they were wrong when they received notification that one of their dogs was abandoned at another shelter in Paris, Kentucky, about an hour from them. It was Lynch and they were totally heartbroken when they saw the condition he was in.

“To say we were shocked on the condition of the dog (Lynch) is an understatement,” they wrote in the post.

The last time they saw him, almost ten months ago, he weighed around 65 pounds, but now he had gone down to only 39.3 pounds

Lynch was a unique type of heartbreak for these people as they had never experienced a sad story like his before.

Hope Still In His Eyes

After seeing him and knowing what he had been through, the shelter employees thought that Lynch was a totally broken dog. Luckily, that wasn’t the case

“Despite the neglect our baby faced in such a short time, he has been the happiest dog to see us and his tail hasn’t stopped wagging,” they wrote.

His eyes, which were full of hope gave them the extra strength and motivation to do everything to help this dog and give him the life he deserves

“We are giving Lynch lots of love and care while he regains his strength and weight,” they wrote, adding: “We KNOW this baby deserves the absolute best now more than ever.”

At the same time, they stated that the authorities had all been notified for an investigation about his abandonment, hoping that justice would soon be served.

In the end, they asked all the good people to help Lynch in his battle for a better life.

“Please consider donating to Lynch. Your donation will help go towards any medical care he will need, high-value food to help gain weight, bedding, and toys, and all the love our poor dog could ever ask for,” they wrote.
