Sweet Doberman Who Spent The Entire Year In A Cage Now Can’t Get Enough Of His Rescuers

Sweet Doberman Who Spent The Entire Year In A Cage Now Can’t Get Enough Of His Rescuers

When a pup endures abuse for an extended period, it is highly likely to develop aggressive behavior.

They become so fearful of hoomans that they use aggression as a defensive mechanism to protect themselves from possible threats.

However, there are instances where dogs hold on to every ounce of hope, understanding that not every human is evil. They remain optimistic that one day, a kind soul will come along and save the day.

In today’s story, you will meet a pup who did exactly that!

Help Is Finally Here

Being locked up for over a year in a cage in Fresno, California, a sweet Doberman dreamed of the day when he could run free and be a happy pup once more.

However, since his enclosure was really well hidden, a lot of local animal rescuers had no idea that he was in this situation in the first place.

Finally, two determined animal lovers, Jessie and Breana, heard his heartbreaking story and decided that they would be his rescuers.

Gathering their supplies and swiftly making their way down to the location, the two Californian rescuers couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw the condition this poor pup was in.

“I went to go scan him for a microchip, and he tried to bite the microchip scanner. He was not doing that out of aggression or anything, he was doing that because he was so hungry,” Jessie told The Dodo.

The pup, later named Chucky, was super friendly with his rescuers. It was as if he had known them his entire life.

After some negotiation, Jessie and Breana managed to persuade his owners to surrender Chucky into their care so that they could help him become a happy and handsome pup once again.

New Chapter

After receiving a full medical checkup and even being at a foster home for three short months, Chucky already looked so much better.

“A foster has been working super diligently on his recovery and his weight gain. And he’s put on a lot of weight and acts more like a normal dog,” she added.

Even with this progress, there was something that Chucky was missing – a forever home!

Since he is super active and loves other pups, his hoomans are certain that he would absolutely thrive in a home with an active family and a loving furry sibling.

So, if you are able to offer him exactly that, plus a lot of love and affection, feel free to contact Fresno Humane Animal Services for more information.

“It makes me really happy knowing that we were able to step in and get this dog the help that he needed, and it makes me extremely happy to know that Chucky is going to be cared for,” she concluded.

Final Word

What happened to Chucky was truly unacceptable!

No living creature should go through such a traumatic event.

Animals fill our world with happiness, love, and fun and it is up to us to make this place as comfortable as ever so that they can live out their dreams feeling loved and appreciated.

So, if you have a pet but are unable to provide them with such a life, please consider surrendering them to your local shelter and giving them a second chance at happiness.

They deserve it!
